Your nightmare playoff outcome scenario

Nightmare scenario has been playing out in Toronto for leaf fans since like 2016.

24-25 playoffs is honestly light work.

Losing to Ottawa would hurt though - but probably less so than the loss to MTL in the bubble (and the subsequent “haha run it back!!1!1” from Dubas and friends).

Obviously losing in the first round would be terrible for the Jets, but the most annoying outcome might be if that happens and then the Blues win the Cup in a 2019 repeat

Nothing against the Jets but I’d love to see the Blues pull 2019 off again. Next to Columbus running the table this Playoff season there was no better outcome this year.

As a Flyers fan, most of the teams I hate are eliminated already. I suppose Florida winning again but this team with The Rat on the team would be pretty stupid. After that, i'd prefer to not see the Devils win again. Sure it's been a while, but the pain from watching them win in 1995, 2000, and 2002 is still real.
The Devils didn't win the Stanley Cup in 2002, it was 2003 that they had won it.

Yes, I do take insulting my city and the people in it personally. Wouldn't you react the same if someone attacked something you're proud of in a personal manner? The fact that nobody said that people were going too far - including mods, where if I said the same thing about Edmonton (not that I ever would; Edmonton is a beautiful city that I'd love to visit) on my board or on the main boards, I'd get infracted quicker than chain lightning - just soured me on the Edmonton Oilers as a whole.

So, yeah, screw the Oilers, go Kings, knock out Edmonton in four!
bro...dont worry so much about it....Edmonton has a mall....Calgary has a much better city and way better scenery

Was - Habs win the series like 2010.
Car - getting swept in the Conference Finals again.
NJ - makes the playoffs without the 2 NY teams and 2 Penn teams. Sweet dream!
Toronto - 1st round loss to the Sens, who win the cup.
TB - Florida wins the cup by beating them in round 1.
Fla - same as above.
Ott - Leafs win the cup after losing in game 7 in OT of round 1, just like in 2017.
Mtl - same as above.

Win - Look at Washington
Dal - same as TB VS FLA situation.
Col - same as above.
STL - same as NJ.
LA - same as the TB VS FLA situation.
Edm - same as above.
Min - same as Leafs.

So, NJ and STL face off in the Finals would be epic given two teams that have the least pressure coming into the playoffs.

Vegas winning again would the worst....I guess Canadians for the East because they have the worst/generic name ever. Yes I know the Sabres farm team is the Americans.

We don't know SMartys line up for Monday, but my nightmare is the Caps playing dirty and seeing Hutson or CC or Demidov limping to the dressing room. SMarty has options and if he doesn't use them, I will be cursing SMarty till the day I die.

The Devs get spanked in the first round.

As a fanbase, we desperately need to come out of this year feeling like we have positive momentum. We want to feel like our core gained valuable playoff experience and that we're moving towards perennial cup favorite status.

It's a tough ask, no doubt. But, on paper, I don't think we're that far off the Canes. We have marginally better goaltending and marginally better special teams. Will that be enough?

We shall see.

Edmonton vs Toronto would be an all time low for me.........

.........but I won't lie, the idea of Toronto sweeping the Oilers in the final would bring a smile to my face.

That would be a bitter sweet situation for sure.

We all want our team to win the cup but what would be the absolute worst outcome for you as a fan.

I'm a Leafs fan, so the Leafs getting beat in the first round (again) while every other Canadian team advancing would be my worst case scenario. If the Sens or Habs win the cup, I would have to probably leave this site forever.
My nightmare scenario is this not happening.

your scenario is very relatable to me, Having played the Flames and Canucks in the playoffs recently the winning is sweeter, but the losing sucks. If the Oilers lost game 7 last year to the canucks it would have sucked.

Ottawa matches up well to the leafs, so your worry is a very real situation, but i can see scenarios happening where both the oilers and jets lose in the first round. so its doubtful the leafs would be the only Canadian team not moving on.

For me, there really isn't a nightmare scenario in the playoffs this year.
