That totally threw me off. Can't say Allen was any weak link. Most of all the goals weren't on him, maybe all of them were not on him.

Put up a shit ton of saves anyway. But wish he had some better rebound control. Daws is terrible with rebound control also.

Was expecting daws and then was surprised to see Allen at the anthem.

Nemec needs to simplify his game in NHL. I get he wants to be a two way defenseman but he shouldn't force shots from point through or pinch.

Stay back and play the safe simple pass. Focus purely on defensive positioning. Once he gets more comfortable, then he can ramp up the offensive game.

I mean duh? What team goes into the year saying "we'll able to sustain a big injury to a player", Colorado doesn't do that with MacK nor does Edmonton with McDavid/Drai. At some point, Nico has to consistently put together seasons where he's healthy for the majority of them. Picking Nemec over Cooley might be one of the biggest draft blunders we've had in a while.

In hindsight picking Nemec over Cooley is bad but you have to realize at the time Nemec's stats were off the board and we had Nico, Hughes, and Mcleod. I can 100% understand why we took Nemec. At the time we had no RD in the system. The one draft I'll never understand is the Holtz one. Rossi was by far the BPA on the board and we skipped him for no reason. That was a stinger because there was no reasoning behind it other than Hughes can't score so we need a goal scorer for him, then Hughes goes and proceeds to score 40 goals and Holtz sucks. Really what's killing us rn is Fitz not drafting center talent besides Mercer. Good news is we have plenty of defenseman we can trade for a center.
