Not going to bother piling on. I don't buy the injury crap... The Isles are winning without five if their Dmen, Barzal etc.
Don't buy the: we're trying to play defense too much crap... We simply can't complete passes, win pucks, sustain pressure. We constantly carry pucks away from dangerous places into corners. Not going to the net. Not getting pucks to the net. No traffic in front.

Not getting goalied. Allen was terrific.

Tough to find an excuse or silver lining but we just gotta move on and win some battles

This team isn't losing because of bad Goaltending.

It's losing because there's no depth and Fitz so far hasn't done jack shit.

so what does that have to do with trading for a goalie (who has been probably our best player this year.......?)

your point makes absolutely no sense.

Regardless, they arent missing the playoffs anyways.

I've had enough of him. I don't care, I need to say it. I'm about to change my name to Fire Fitzgerald.

Oh shit, someone already has it!

Anyway, guy needs to be SACKED if we miss the playoffs. And I don't have much confidence in contending with him if we do make the playoffs, after what he's done the last two offseasons.

I'm not really that mad at what he hasn't done in-season this year, but he made this bed with the poor forward depth and overcorrecting the last two years. This was a clear change in direction on his part. And the guy before him, who he was basically the pool boy for, was fired for 4 playoff misses in 5 years, with much less to work with. And both made the playoffs in year 3.

You best believe, if this team misses the playoffs, there WILL be a Fire Fitzy chant in the final home game of the season. Just look at how much they're booing after home losses lately. He will perish if we miss the playoffs. And if he doesn't then he's nothing more than a puppet figurehead and empty suit, which the last guy clearly wasn't.

Well I cant be too mad, were still in a playoff spot for a little while; though the games in hand are worrying!

Hopefully win the last game before break and then wake the F up!!

My point does make sense.

You don't trade a first for an aging goaltender JUST to make the playoffs. You trade a first to be a contender. And this team isn't a contender by any means.

Fitz hasn't done jack shit to help the team considering the issues have been consistent all season long.

You know exactly what I was saying. It’s been five weeks of terrible hockey (to varying degrees!) - Dano was doing the same thing a lot of you here do where they pretend every game is some isolated event and pretend the people complaining have no memory of the games preceding it. We’re all watching the same games you are.
It’s fairly normal to have stretches of play that are varying degrees of terrible. We had a few in our record setting season a couple years ago. When they come with zero luck, they look very ugly. And they can be hidden with great luck.

We also don’t have to pretend that missing Nico against a top team isn’t massive. Along with the first game without a guy who has been literally the best defensive dman in the NHL this season. But these are “excuses” that won’t explain why we were bad in 2017 or however long the bad streak has been now.
