Honestly, that's more on roster construction than the way Keefe coaches. At least in my opinion.I'll say one observation.
I know our team is better with Keefe so far, but I really miss the way the 22-23 ruff team could come back seemingly on demand at end of games. We had so many comebacks with the 6v5
Jack is the only player who brought it tonight. He can’t do it all.Jack Hughes needs to be the guy, and he has not been that guy.
Seriously that was really ugly on paperHonestly, with the roster we had I didn’t think this was that bad lol.
The Meier trade isn't an issue. We lost nothing for him. The issue is bad contracts like Palat, bad drafting like Holtz, Nemec, Silayev over better options, and being obsessed with height and making us slower and less skilled in the bottom six, and defense.I agree, getting tired of Fitzgerald. Set this team back years with the dumb Meier trade.
The ugliest thing about tonight was Allen hot potato'ing or should I say HOT MUFFINING the Ristolainen muffin and tossing it right to Laughton or whoever scored that. I can't remember anymore.Seriously that was really ugly on paper
They were healthy in 22-23 and scoring a lot 6v5 is a lot of luck. I think when healthy there maybe more Keefe can do to get the play early in the game going to get lead by playing the top line a couple of shifts extra. But that is not a tonight problem as they only had 1 line.I'll say one observation.

I'm now thinking Dillon is another bad contract. He could be Brendan Smith bad soon enough and he's signed for 2 more years. The Meier trade isn't an issue. We lost nothing for him. Make trades before the break so they can actually do that.Play .500 hockey until the break
Not sure how the first goal is on him. Clearly changed directions right in front of him. 2nd one was absolutely horrendous.I know this is my thing, but if Allen stops one of those two bad goals in the 1st…..
Ersson was facing tougher chances. And I know it’s against our team which was making every 3-4 Swingin dicks we faced look great even before Christmas, but if Ersson can do that behind the Flyers, it’s not asking too much for Allen to do that.
Back to back softies in like less than a minute was it?
a combo of allen letting in that second goal and just a complete inability to make a pass the first 30 minutes was all it took tonight. what can ya do. hopefully wednesday they can start where they left off and then the 3 day break gets Nico back in the fold for sundayAllen needs to make some extra saves here. Roster is banged up and short staffed, goalie can't be laying eggs like he did
Who would you rather have picked over Nemec? The Meier trade isn't an issue. We lost nothing for him. The issue is bad contracts like Palat, bad drafting like Holtz, Nemec, Silayev over better options, and being obsessed with height and making us slower and less skilled in the bottom six, and defense.
He is. Pesce is going to be one as well. I think he's been fine for the most part, but man he's slow as shit and that's an expense contract for someone who's game is already slow as hell and will get worse as he ages.I'm now thinking Dillon is another bad contract. He could be Brendan Smith bad soon enough and he's signed for 2 more years.
Brendan Dillon of a couple years ago would have been pretty good.
I love Nemec, can’t wait to see him back upWho would you rather have picked over Nemec?
