That we are getting multiple games to OT and at least getting the point has been important since the 4 losses out west. Keep the point streak going and get some regulation wins in too. It’s a moment in the season that’s an absolute grind and for pretty much everyone and not just us.

Everyone is beating everyone right now. Witness Buffalo over Carolina last night. Especially bubble teams are fighting to stay alive. Expect very tough and maybe even ugly games with Philly this next week and with Ottawa too. This is when having built up the cushion in the standings gives us a good position. The teams below us fighting each other are also all playing each other. I’m impressed at the way we are battling through it. 35 games or thereabouts to go before the playoffs.

I admit, I am in total anxiety, panic mode with this team right now.

Nobody on the bubble loses anymore, we don’t really win anymore. Carolina has fortunately been not winning anymore just as much as us. I’m kind of surprised we have a better points percentage than them right now.

I’m not nearly in the “OMG! The Rangers will overtake the third division spot from us soon!” Like someone was last week, but we could really be in a fight to keep above the wild card spots to close out the month if we have another 500 week or less.

We should have a better than 500 week/next couple of weeks with 8 in a row against either bubble or bubble teams.

We have 8 in a row coming up against inferior teams. We should win 5 of them.

Again, the Vegas odds isn't the argument people are gonna be moved by if they aren't already was my point. Better argument tonight would be the Avs pasting the Oilers 3-0, they're not a bad team but shit happens nightly in this league lol.
It should matter. “Contender” is literally just a team that has a chance. Well, you get in, you have a chance. That’s looking pretty likely. And of the teams likely to get in, the pros see 3 of them more likely to take the whole thing. Sounds like a team that will contend.

Don’t really care that they lost some 3 on 3 or shootouts that won’t be a thing when it matters.

Really? We couldn't tell :sarcasm::D

I'm joking, in all seriousness, I understand the nervousness, but the teams on the bubble aren't going to win forever, and the teams at the top aren't going to lose forever.

The team is facing a lot of adversity right now. Injuries, sickness, fatigue and the lack of depth is apparent. Some things will change for the better.

A solid home stand this weekend would be awesome.

Dillon and Hamilton aren't cutting it right now, and haven't in a while.

I don't even know how that'd work, but I'd take Nemec for a few games over Dougie right now. I never feel confident when he's on the ice.
I’m totally in get Dougie the f*** outta here this off-season mode.

Totally over him at this point.

If we were the ones that came back in this game late after getting outplayed then fine that's cool but we had the lead. Situationally getting a pt out of this shouldn't be seen as some type of win.
You are 100% right, but I honestly think that highlights how down the boys are in terms of fatigue. Having a VERY candid coach gloss over everything tonight, it tells you all you need to know. They are just nowhere near 100% and are in survival mode.

Weirdly enough, the top 2 teams in the league in xGF% 5v5 are both underperforming the xGF by over 10 lol. Canes are at -12 goals scored above expected and we're at -13. Oilers, who are 3rd in xGF% 5v5, are at -8.

I'm agreeing with you in totality, I'm saying the doomsayers aren't going to moved by that argument and will point to shit like that.

I agree, not ALL of those teams are going to keep winning. But there’s usually a fluke team or two to get in every year and I’d think any of Columbus, Montreal or Detroit would be considered fluke teams.

Ottawa not as much, but Travis Green and Ullmark injured probably pushes them into fluke territory. Boston may also not be flukes, but I wonder how much of that is reputation and not what the current team is? They even overachieved last year.

Washington were the East fluke team last year. And if they didn’t get in one of Detroit or god forbid Philly would have gotten instead and I’m pretty sure those were also fluke teams. The Flyers had decent numbers last year, but the fact they had those decent numbers seemed to be enough to write them off as just a little more sustainable than the other flukes.

Agreed, then Keefe putting that dogshit third line out there and getting ass blasted for a minute and a half wasn't smart either......

Us and the Canes isn't surprising. We've both always been poor finishing teams. Edmonton's surprising

That's fair, but I don't think MTL, CBJ or DET have anything to do with us in the grand scheme of things.

Dillon is also a really bad fit with him. He makes ill advised plays and his coverage is lacking. Plus they’re both so slow.

OT almost feels like an auto loss this year, barring a power play opportunity.

But we were pretty lucky to get to OT in some of these recent games. We probably should have lost to all of Toronto, Florida and the Rangers in regulation. We weren’t bad against Tampa though.

That's fair, but I don't think MTL, CBJ or DET have anything to do with us in the grand scheme of things.
Well, Columbus could because one more bad week for us and one more good week for them and they’re literally right on our tail.

If we get to a point where Montreal or Detroit have something to do with us then the wheels really fell off.

At the end of the day, its 7 out of 10 pts in the last 5. We will take that every damn time.

But we also acknowledge that they need to start getting their game back soon. But we also understand that the team is battling some fatigue issues. Hopefully they rest up tomorrow and a good streak starts this weekend. Maybe the Nose will be back in.

That overtime was frustrating as hell, Luke almost scored 2x and then does that f***ing horrid change, that penalty to tie the game at 2 was a joke and that 3rd goal that Matthews made to tie it was weak too.

Just an annoying game and Keefe didn't deserve to get swept by these blue bums this season.

Nico was the best thing of the game.

The Timo shot was so dumb too
