But this is worse than a month ago. I know injuries, but they aren’t even competitive in the games. It is also at a now or never stage of the season. If you don’t do it between now the ASG you’ve lost the opportunity for it to save the season.

The Devils neutral zone and forecheck was good enough last year that the Devils spent less time playing bad defense.

This year the forecheck and neutral zone defense is worse so the Devils defensive zone defense is taxed more heavily.

How many years now has it been now since this team collectively played hockey the right way, doing the little but important details on D and managing the puck and the game responsibly? Even last year...they basically got away with not having to do that because they dominated puck possession so much and being able to score tons of goals.

I don’t think he’s going anywhere in season, but games like this when we get healthy will lead to his demise.

We’re not on pace to allow 45 shots and lose 6-0 because Jack Hughes and Ondrej Palat (and Dougie, who has been out for almost two months anyway) and Brendan Smith are injured.

Great point. We’ve really cycled through so many established quality goaltenders this year.

Daws is at the very least the same level of all the goalies people here have been willing to trade our blue chip prospects for. The goalie is shit excuse is not valid anymore.

Sure but when they had to defend, they were still good at it. It's the equivalent of a NFL team who runs a ton but still has a great defense, like the Niners/Ravens (timing of saying this today is kinda wild lol)
