What chances? Pretty limited really. He had to make a couple of good saves and then catch the lobs from the point.
He got a fingertip on a Haula shot that was probably going high anyway lol...that's an example of the 'saves' he made most of the night till they finally woke up the last few minutes.

Nahhhhhh, we can't beat a team that has 3 less wins than us on the season apparently. I think I won't even watch the game. JFC is this place annoying at times, as much as I love it.

They win tomorrow and they tie us in points. We were 8 points ahead of them at one point.

Next month it will be "well we are only two points out of a playoff spot, everything is FINE, remember when we were good for one month?"

This has been the story for two weeks now outside of the Philly game.

We didn't challenge Wedgewood at all in the Dallas game either.
We blitzed the Rags. Mental breakdowns and the PP cost them that game. The tide has to eventually turn where you outplay your opponents 4 out of every 6 games. You don’t normally just get a point in a stretch like that. Seasons will ebb and flow. Watch us play like
Dogshit the next week and win 3 in a row somehow.

I know youre joking about the latter part, but this is exactly it. How bad do those Siegenthaler quotes look now? Like holy shit, you won 13 games in a row thats cool but no ones gonna respect you if you dont put in the work. Right now theyre coasting off of that win streak and thinking they can beat teams on minimal effort. Breaking news, no team is good enough to win consistently if you dont give your 100%.
Dallas game definitely felt like we were coasting.

Except you guys don't need another excuse to bag on each other...you do that more than enough without awards.
Lol, the awards would be a positive thing. "Best Memer Poster", "Best New Poster", "Nicest Poster", "Best Abroad Poster", "Most Knowledgeable Poster", "Best Avatar", etc. off the top of my head.

Sure we could have "Most Pessimistic Poster", but in the off-season it could be all in good fun lol, most pessimist poster admit to being pessimistic anyway.

Whatever, in the off-season I think it could be a fun little thing but I just through it out there last year lol.

Blitzed or not we’re all Swedish no Finish. 2-6 in last 8. Division lead down to nearly 0; CAR has game in hand and they’re our next game (and I’m going to that).

Not scoring, giving up too many goals. No PPG. Last minute goals against like it’s our f***ing requirement every game. You can’t win games like this. We all said the wins toward end of the streak were ugly. It’s coming home to roost.

I don’t know the answer but there’s no reason to blow sunshine here. This is a problem

Do you not see how this is a bit ridiculous? They’ve lost 5 in a row and still have one of the best records in the league. And the underlying numbers look totally fine in this stretch, there is no “falling off a cliff” to be seen. No need to do this shit, it’s way too much.

There are going to be some people who don't like this argument, but what was frankly most embarrassing about our loss today and what has been most embarrassing about a lot of our losses recently has been our complete and utter lack of any kind of physical intimidation. Watching Nico get tossed around every single shift and seeing Tatar and Mercer and others just stand there and watch it happen was probably the worst scene of the season for me. We don't have a single player that is willing to stand up for our god damn captain out there and that makes a big f***ing difference in games like this. Teams have just been out physical-ing us and it has frankly been working because we just roll over and take it. Call it a scoring rut if you want, but this is absolutely a top two root cause of it. We are playing afraid, not going to the middle of the ice, not getting in position for rebounds, not standing up for our players, etc..

These posts proclaiming that the team stinks and will fall out of a playoff spot are downright childish.

The penguins lost seven games in a row earlier this season and everyone thought that meant they were finally aging out…oops guess not. They are now sitting in third place. The maple Leafs lost four in a row in late October. Their fans and media were predictably pulling out the pitchforks. Tied for second right now in the conference. The rangers went through a stretch where they won just two out of seven games and then a separate stretch of six games with just one win, which put them a couple of spots out of a wild card. Their board was convinced that the rangers would no longer be able to compete with the devils or other teams in playoff spots. They are now just one point back of the penguins for third in the division.

It sucks that the team has lost five in a row. It’s clear they’ve lost some of their offensive mojo for some reason lately, but nonetheless these have all been one goal losses (minus the empty betters) and the team hasn’t been doing anything particularly poorly. The PP has looked incredibly mediocre but to be honest it’s looked like that all season. I don’t think these players are good on the PP for some reason, I don’t think it has anything to do with coaching at all. But they’ve shown enough ability 5v5 to remain competitive even without the PP being very good.

I do worry about how much the opponents physicality might neutralize their game or wear them down over time, and how much they can adjust to overcome that by getting to rebounds and greasy areas. But these don’t seem to be the kinds of things that would prevent them from winning enough games to stay in the playoff picture.

That Wednesday game has Blackwood written all over it.
Oh god, he absolutely blew chunks in the one game we played there last year. Let in 4 goals (two of them were shit) and was pulled halfway through regulation for Bernier, who didn’t get scored on at all and must have faced 16 or 18 shots.

And we scored one goal on 45 shots or something against Knight.

And that was even before his death spiral in December and January. That was probably his first really bad game last year.

I think they may give him Carolina. Let me go look up both of their career stats against each team. They’ve sometimes played it like that, but other times didn’t.

Wouldn’t he surprised if Vitek has only played Florida once (possibly never) in the regular season, as they didn’t play them at all in his rookie year. He did play a couple playoff games against them and did well against in one game and even won it , but was eventually taken out for the remainder of the series after getting blown up one game.

I could care less about the division lead. We're the youngest team in the league and we were bound to have a rough patch (or a few) at some point during the season. Ya'll are losing your mind after a 5 game losing streak where we're competitive to very good in most of the games.

None of you are gonna convince me to get all doom and gloom, cause I'm not seeing it in game. The 13 game W streak has also not changed my initial expectations for the season, unlike many here. To each his own though.
