Sure game 3 was pretty brutal, but hard to see how this game is a "must win" imo. We're dressing our 4th string goalie, with our top player missing and a key piece to our bottom 6. I'd like a W for sure and want to see bounce back performances from certain guys who had a bad game Thursday, but don't get your expectations too high folks.

With that being said, LGD!!!

I’ll give you the goalie thing. And this team is way better w Hughes. But all teams have injuries. I think what many are implying is find ways to win. No teams are goin a be healthy all season.

I can agree with all of that, team needs to play better than last game. I just don't agree that it a "must win".

Butcher AND Hayden in the lineup?! Dear god we better beat these clowns

I forgot John Hayden ever even existed until I read this.

And wasn't he traded for John Quenneville?

I forgot he existed till I saw him in warmups

I know it’s crazy to say must win but this is still a very important game . I know it’s just the 4th game but if this season is about taking the next step , then part of taking that next step is to find ways to win regardless of injuries. We are playing against a lineup that is considered a favourable matchup. No teams are an automatic win but there is no reasons why we cannot win this game. This sets the tone for the remainder of the season and will show how they bounce back after a loss.
Ruff addressed the team and asked for better play. We will see how they react. This game is important because it will show how far along the rebuild we are. Are we starting to walk now or are we still at the crawling stage.
All I want want is a sold effort by everyone and improved game from what is considered the “core”

Why is that? A loss lives then 2-2 with 1 more game of this homestand

Devils should be able to beat Buffalo who are on a B2B and probably got into their hotels late from last nights game against Boston at home. And the Devils are not going anywhere this year with a loss to Buffalo even though the Sabres actually look improved this year.

hoping that last game was just getting it out of their system that hughes is out and there was letdown, now they're refocused and have a bit of a fire lit under their asses after knowing that last game's effort was unacceptable
