A regulation win, but I can’t imagine anyone feels better about this team.

That said if the Islanders-Canes score hold they will enter Christmas tied with the Hurricanes for the final spot on Pts%.
And that's what happened....I'm shocked that THAT game didn't end in yet another usual 3-pointer.

So more rare good news.

Never understood the focus on ice conditions. The other team is playing on the same surface, it’s not like the devils are uniquely disadvantaged.

I would say when they were the fastest team in the league and bad ice was slowing them down then yes, that definitely benefited the other team and hurt the Devils. Now that they are more slightly above average speed instead of all speedsters, the bad ice is less of an issue.

Having not been able to watch the game, this appears like what you would expect from to similarly matched teams. A pretty close game that could have gone either way. Being on the back end of a back to back probably hurt Detroit.

Is Patrick Kane still a crater defensively?

Because I didn't notice him a single time tonight other than when he scored that goal. And I didn't notice him at all in the Rangers series last year other than when everyone was scoring over there in games 1, 2 and 6.

I still have raw feelings about should we sign Toffoli or not.
Today hockey is asking backchecks from forwards. Holtz made good one today.

Just because this is relevant to us

Look at Ottawa since DJ Smith got fired. DJ Smith absolutely deserved to be fired and longggggggg ago. But the answer to firing him was bringing back a 71 year old that hasn't been a head coach in 12 years now.

That's why we have to be careful what we wish for in firing Ruff.

Gotta love the artificial drumming up of the Vitek chant by the arena MC.
Actually, the fans were chanting Vitek before the music starterd. The fans have given players like Vitek and Timo a very long leash this season and have supported them with chants in every game. It’s nice to see.

The leash is short with Ruff (pun intended) lots of fire Lindy chants were attempted

I'd take my chances with Lemaire if that's what they want to do

You have a misunderstanding of what it means to be a fast team. It's not just about footspeed.

It's about moving the puck fast, which requires quick decision making and fast passing.

Hard to do that when the puck is bouncing a lot.

Great to read it. Its wonderful that people can be forgiving. Sometimes human needs to support even in longer slamps. I know Vitek isn't Brodeur, but if he will return to his average form, it will benefit.
