I’m as bummed as everyone at this performance, but happy with the teams play otherwise this year…..

That being said, I do NOT agree with Keefe’s aggressive dump and chase game. He needs to let the top 2 lines know they should be creating more off the rush. This is not the Toronto d core he had they can play some defense.

They basically couldn’t create anything off the rush this game since St Louis barely bothered to leave their own zone after they they got that big ole lead but yeah in general they need to open up more. I think we’re still like a top 10 rush team this year just through the talent. Open it up a bit and we could probably be like a top 3 while still being elite defensively

I'm sorry but the fact that Nico was tripped and it directly lead to the first goal is annoying. Just because it's 5 seconds into the game doesn't mean don't call a penalty. Changed the entire game. And then to call the ticky tack too many men penalty just minutes later was a joke.

Don’t call the clear crosscheck to Pesce’s back right before the 2nd goal. Some of the worst officiating I’ve ever seen

I wasn't even worried lol. I was just pointing out that it seems like we either win or are shutout. I don't even care as long as we keep winning more than we lose.
That's fair, apologies. With how the team has played for the last month, I'm not too worried about that. I feel like they've played some solid hockey.

This should be a top 5 rush team and those rush chances make a huge impact on xG, and our improved defensive personnel and goalies should cover the chances going back.

We have been playing exceedingly conservative at 5v5 this year - my hope is this just a first 1/4 season adjustment with a new coach.

Honestly - that was a fair no call, a devils d man cross checked the Blues player into Pesce. It felt sus at the time but replay confirmed

That second goal on Markstrom was not at all good.

He should have caught that one. He looks behind him after it’s in the net and the body language definitely looked like he was surprised it went in and that he didn’t glove that one.

If he makes that save then we get a whistle and kill the bullshit penalty and are only down 1-0.

I mean, it is 25% of the season. What percentage of at bats over a baseball season is 24? I feel like it's a hell of a lot less than 25.
More like 5% if you figure 500 AB’s

Boy you could tell Keefe was not happy with tonight’s effort. I’m expecting them to come out firing Friday in Detroit
Good cause they sulked around the first twelve minutes and the last twenty

He should be annoyed. That 3rd period effort was kind of limp.
I left midway through the third cause it had definite go through the motions vibes, probably wouldn’t have done so if they were at least giving second period effort

The shutouts are concerning.
More annoying than concerning tbh…they haven’t scored fewer than two in any other game and that only happened twice. So the other 19 games they scored 3+. Not like any of those games besides the Sharks would have really been any better with one, although the Calgary game might have changed with the first goal too.

I don't blame Marky, I think the team as a whole were asleep, the Blues were motivated and the reffing was top5 worst I've seen in hockey ever. The "officiating sucked" has become a clichee for the losing team fans to rant about, but this was so blatantly one sided and terrible, I really wouldn't be surprised if the refs were bought or the very least biased.

That said, I know Vasi had no problems in his ceremony game, but I'd personally sit the goalie being honored entirely. Just incase there are emotions distracting the focus. Let him wear a suit and fully enjoy his achievement. This loss probably ruined the day for Marky.

Because those things don't take situational hockey into account. St Louis (due in part to the ref's) out played us early, took the lead, and then went into defensive shell, not even trying to get chances for themselves.

But pure numbers we crushed them. Doubled them up in corsi.

If you saw the replay he hardly touched him he was trying to draw a penalty by diving and landed on Pesce.

Giants Vs Cowboys on Thanksgiving is a punishment for what we did to the Indians.
At least we have the Bears/Lions and Miami/GB sandwiched around them.

That game is going to be the perfect NAP game after the inevitable Food Coma following Thanksgiving dinner.

Then you wake up later and you get to see Miami/GB go at it.

Wish there were penalties for "lack of action" or whatever when the Blues did that defensive shell thing.

You have to make an effort to get out of your own end and not just sit there waiting.

That's NOT professional Hockey.
