Enjoyed that curt Keefe interview. Implied blame in the right places. Also didn't like the ref call but there was so much time to make up for it.

Someone needs to make a pissed post game interview Keefe-o-meter.

He seemed to be at about a 6 or 7.

He should be annoyed. That 3rd period effort was kind of limp.

10th right now but boosted a lot by these last 2 games. Before this they're 16th and 14th in GF/60. Nashville was legitimately great even if a weak opponent. Tonight it's completely fake and boosted by St Louis not even trying cross their own blue line for 45 minutes. They also brought up "lately" so I was more focused on that and we've been much worse of late. In the 10 games from the the start of November until before Nashville it was 27th in xGF/60 and 24th in GF/60...
Yeah, it didn't start all that well, but I'd guess that with more practice time (which they've had in the last week) to learn the system etc. the 5v5 game would get better as the season went along. It's been a few games and it has looked better. Hopefully it keeps improving.

Yep it’s my one real concern at the moment. Based on the cap situation I don’t know if we’re getting anything other than a cheap bottom 6 add or two

Do what you have to do to get a top 6er. Maybe bring in a 3rd team for double retention or something if you need it. I think Hall could end up undervalued because of his lack of production (hatty tonight though) but he's creating offense. He's an option to me. If you can't find a way to swing it then you at least need a middle 6 or 3rd line scoring type that can play up in the top 6.

I can't say it's a few games of looking better. It's one game of looking better after 10 games of looking bad. Tonight was a fake game and I don't fully count it in the good or bad pile. The lack of being able to find a goal certainly goes in the bad pile for tonight.

I actually think Palat is playing pretty well, but if he get's into the high teens goal wise that would be a major win.

Would like to see Meier get up towards 30.

But yeah, we have guys underperforming. Those 2, and Mercer being another.

Palat is getting his looks. He's a bit in Mercer territory in that none are going in. Haula too, but he had a gate open last game, but on the whole Haula has been shooting mostly duds.

To me the team looks way better overall and I'm satisfied with that. Let's see where they are in 10 games. I like where they're heading.

Luke finished 34-6 in CF for 85% and 1.73-0.13 in xG for 93%. Leads the team with a 60% CF and 69% xG while up 2-0 in goals since Florida. Best player on the team right now.

Didn't realize also leading the team outright in CF% at 57% on the season and ever so slightly 2nd behind his brother in xGF% 58.78 vs 58.23. Still down 3-5 in goals on the season but only 5 goals against in 16 games is incredible. He's not going to continue being on 3 GF on 11 xGF. Maybe the 5 GA on 8 xGA regresses as well but given his play I wouldn't be surprised to see his defense outpace the expected

Still a very small sample size where random things can happen, but yeah as I said, I know we're in the market of worrying for worrying sake around these parts.

I wasn't even worried lol. I was just pointing out that it seems like we either win or are shutout. I don't even care as long as we keep winning more than we lose.

I do fully expect them to come out with a much better effort against Detroit and I think a rested Timo will help a lot too

Then we can get to work getting some more divisional points and lock in our top 3 spot more.
If they win Friday and then get max points vs Caps and Rangers tonight is forgotten about

I’m as bummed as everyone at this performance, but happy with the teams play otherwise this year…..

That being said, I do NOT agree with Keefe’s aggressive dump and chase game. He needs to let the top 2 lines know they should be creating more off the rush. This is not the Toronto d core he had they can play some defense.

I'm sorry but the fact that Nico was tripped and it directly lead to the first goal is annoying. Just because it's 5 seconds into the game doesn't mean don't call a penalty. Changed the entire game. And then to call the ticky tack too many men penalty just minutes later was a joke.
