rly just one of the most boring games ive seen in a while. Let's hope we saved some of our play for these next 3 games. would love to steal points from all of these upcoming teams.

It’s a super busy stretch but thankfully our next 3 opponents are on the same schedule as us lately so it’s not like we’re behind the 8 ball in terms of rest

I mean we need a goal doen 3 and Keefe doesn't even pull the goalie. I dont think the fans care if they lose 4 to 0 or 3 to 1. You atleast have to exhaust that option.

I missed the first period but judging from the score and from the announcement crew it seema like they just came out the gate slow. I had a feeling Montgomery was going to get that new head coach boost teams seem to get when they make a change. I'm sure it will wear off but the Devils need to win these kind of games. Getting shutout f***ing sucks regardless of who you play. Against teams like St Louis , San Jose....frustrating even though we have a pretty good record.

Goals 1 and 2 stoppable.

Goal 2 was a complete f***in whiff on a shot that he should have easily caught. If you can't catch that shot then put on another f***in blocker Dan Blackburn style.

Goal 3 may have even been borderline, but was also unlucky. Siegs couldn't sweep it away in the crease after probably being put in a bad position due to the way Markstrom played that.

Goal 1 was because of the brutal missed trip on Nico, but that just goes through him. If he would have made the save on the muffin that was goal 2 maybe that one doesn't hurt so much.

And he's another guy that just seems to give up a lot of goals on the first shot this year. That's definitely two games in a row he did it. I know there's been more.

They did start slow but Markstrom was awful and it was some of the most atrocious reffing I've ever seen. I generally shy away from bitching about officiating but holy f*** that game legitimately seemed fixed. Nico was blatantly tripped right in front of the ref which directly leads to a 2 on 1 for St Louis and a goal 9 seconds in. Then we get a penalty for too many men on a completely routine line change. Then Pesce gets crossed checked from behind in front of the net, it goes uncalled and St Louis scores their 2nd goal.

It was a slow start but st.Louis didn’t do anything much at all either. Got gifted two goals. Created one half decent chance off a lucky bounce and scored on it. Those two gifted goals were completely demoralizing and it still was the kind of period that probably deserved to be 0-0 or 1-0

Stupid game from 9 seconds in till the end. The refs completely ruined the game. Gave the blues an early two goal lead and the opportunity to just sit back on it and make it a shitty game.

Sure you wish the devils could score there but they created far more than the blues and I’d fancy their chances of scoring more if the blues actually had to try and score too. We didn’t get a single chance of the rush because they had 5 guys sitting back all game.

You can thank the refs for this

That pretty much sums up the game from my view as well.

A lot on the refs for creating that scenario in the 1st, creating that separation, some on markstrom, and the rest being just Bennington being good. Blues turtled the whole f***ing game after that 3-0.

NJ has to find a way to get some goals though, a lot of chances to be buried.

Mercer has trouble with scoring goals in key moments recently. Can't lift it, or hits a crossbar, hits a post, or passes up a AAA chance, seems to be his bag of tricks recently
The 6million dollar man has been invisible since they got him. How long are they going to put up with him robbing a paycheck?

I have a hard time praising the Blues playing that brand of hockey.

They turtled as hard as a team could ever turtle. Not something we are going to see a lot of going forward

I mean it sucked to watch but you have to give the Blues a decent bit of credit for how they turtled. Although we definitely still could’ve scored a couple.

Win or get shutout. That's the two speeds of this team

They are really thin at forward and losing someone like Timo, despite his dumb at time decisions, really hurts. That may be the Achilles heel of this team. One top 6 injury and they are toast.

How did Cotter look? The last couple games it almost appears to me as if he is playing hurt.

It’s really annoying mostly because it’s not like they built a deserved lead and then did that. They got gifted a 3 goal lead and then sat on it. Completely undeserved win

Spot on. People are trying to make this game more than what it was.
