Your biggest "Blew it" player predictions.

Actually, if you go by this list, only counting forwards who played more than 300 minutes and sorting by points per 60 minutes of ice time, then Bernier is 263rd!

Congratulations, instead of a great fourth liner, he is now one of the worst third liners in the league.

I can't follow the link?

But I'm sure it's some ******** corsi numbers.

Charmin? Please telling me you are referring to Rafalski? Because behind the net and along the boards I'm not sure the devils have iced a softer player in the last 20 or so years...

Talk about benefiting playing with great players, here is Rafalski's career in a nutshell... Stevens made him look decent, Niedermayer made him look decent, Martin exposed his weakness a bit, Lidstrom made him look decent....

If Johnny Oduya had those partners for his entire career people would think he was good too.

these points are not lost on me. raf was never the #1 on those teams and other guys that took minutes and made opponents pay. its the fact that with out supporting cast martin was the de facto #1.....sort of like greene. and im going greene for that role.

I was never a fan of Martin. He always left me wanting more. He was probably as soft as any D-Men I've seen in a Devils uniform when it came to defensive zone work. Guy got muscled of the puck constantly and was horrendous in the playoffs. He got absolutely abused in the Carolina and Philly series'. Gimme Rafalski everyday of the week over him and twice on Sundays.

Frazee since day one thought would be a huge dud.
He is small, sloppy , and has horrible mechanics , never did see him being more than a career AHL player at the very best .
Still don't understand why we keep resigning him to minor league deals... The guy is horrible.

Did we re sign him this year? I'm not sure if we did. I thought they were still deciding? He probably won't be brought back. If he is, then he probably won't be brought back next year.

Steve Bernier was better than Kovalchuk.

269 to go.

There's also a reason Rafalski kept getting paired with those guys, he wasn't Forrest Gump just randomly landing in spots.

the worst. he does this thing when he sees a shot coming that blows my mind. he puts both arms out, head down and shrugs his shoulders up. its really like he just did the math and figured "if i cover this area here i have a decent chance of stopping it."

dont get me wrong you see it from every goalie now and then when its a quick shot or even a tip/screen. but he does it for just regular shots. when its a blowout for either team and the goal doesn't matter, or he saves it (the puck actually hits him,) its really funny to watch.

I would think it's pretty easy to say Andy Greene is one of the top 60 defenseman in the league. I'm not sure how that's even debatable.

of course, but the detractors will just say NO MAN YOURE WRONG without posting any facts or posting their own list.

I just feel like more and more people around here care more about being clever and having internet cred than they do discussing the New Jersey Devils.

It's summer time on a hockey message board after a terrible season. Much of this should be expected. No?

top 60 means first pairing. 30 teams x 2 DMen per pairing = 60.

someone brought up that he was not a top pairing DMan.

After we drafted Josefson I thought we'd have two sick duos of Parise-Zajac and Josefson-Tedenby to anchor our top two lines by now.

Parise is gone, Tedenby is on the verge of busting, and I think most people would be happy if Yayo became a suitable 3rd liner right now because he sucks at scoring.

and then someone will say how just because he's a top pairing on this team, he wouldn't be a top pairing on another team... just like the Zajac is a #1 center debate when he got his latest contract and how he wouldn't be a #1 center on a legit contender (i.e. the Penguins if I remember the debate that went down). Then a couple of pages later it will devolve into a snarky back and forth between the realists talking actual lineups right now vs. the "build your ideal roster" and would he be a top pairing guy then crowd.

I think Andy is a top pairing guy when you look at the league as a whole. I see plenty of comparable types filling that slot on other teams regardless of where they rank on some fantasy depth chart.

This I agree with. I personally don't think if you have a good defense Andy Greene is a top 2 player. He has developed to being a top 4 player, which a few years ago didn't look like it would happen.
Saying he is or is not top 60 is just way to complicated. The entire, defensive dmen, offensive dmen, PP specialist guys, all around guys...
