With the season set to open in a few days with Devils vs Sabres in Europe, it feels right to get all of your hot takes out there now before the real games start. The hotter the better.

I'll start:

1. The Bruins have their playoff spot taken by either the Sabres or Senators and miss for the first time in a while.
2. Utah makes the playoffs
3. Leafs win the cup
There’s no such thing as a hot take in the modern NHL

Sabres wildcard 1 face Rangers winner of the metro and win

Leafs beat Boston in round 2 in 7 games

Leafs defeat Sabres in ECF to go to the cup

Leafs defeat any western Canadian team who made it to the finals to win the cup

The old guard of the Eastern Conference are wiped out. None of TBL, PIT, NYR, BOS make the 2nd round.

NJD become the Alphas of the East and BUF & OTT arrive on the scene as contenders

Typing this knowing it will never happen…..

Vegas gets a good streak of health. With Stone playing 76 games, Eichel playing 80 and Adin Hill taking fifty…..fifty-one starts, the Knights dogfight with Vancouver and Edmonton for tops in the division, falling to second.

- Colorado slides and needs a wild card birth to sneak into the playoffs.
- Two of the Senators, Sabres, and Red Wings will finally get over the hump and make the playoffs.
- Nashville wins the President's Trophy but can't make it out of the first round. They lose to Colorado.
