Wait until you find out it was Frost he is talking about.Interesting comment from Torts in the presser, they are still going to be sellers. Holy crap, he made sense! Don't fall in love with the team/your players, some of them have to go as part of the rebuild.
Walker or Risto, Seeler, Staal, Hathaway, Atkinson, Laughton should all be on the block. If Briere can trade Deslaurier's contract, he will be a genius. Need to trade a could D and one of the Fs. Brink needs to play, among others.

Excuse me we only are allotted 17 phone callsThank you for bringing this up. Painting this as black and white is flawed.
There’s nothing wrong with trading for players who you think can contribute right now. They just shouldn’t be pending 29yo UFAs. Call everyone. See who you can shake free.
Wouldn't consider extending anyone except Konecny.
Don’t have to scratch any, you can play 7D. It’s working right now, and you can save for the playoffsI think the Drysdale trade forced them into having to trade a D man now, I legit don’t know what one of the 7 dmen they’d scratch? No shot they sit Risto, and quite frankly he prob doesn’t deserve it lol
I'm still moving Walker, Risto if I can, and it shaves 4M+ million dollars for latter years of his deal. Atkinson if he draws interest although I think he's a buyout candicate. You are Danny Briere - who do you move? Who/what do you target? Who do you not move? Do you extend anyone?

Ironically, having 7 NHL capable defensemen, plus Staal as a tertiary option for a 6 defenseman set up, is what teams would kill for when preparing for a playoff run.Don’t have to scratch any, you can play 7D. It’s working right now, and you can save for the playoffs
If the price is right, anyone can go.Wait until you find out it was Frost he is talking about.
Michkov is not the savior, he'll be a good addition but you want to build a team, don't wait for one player and expect him to make you a winner (how's NJ doing these days?). The general rule on aging curves is 3rd/4th line guys are risks over 30, 2nd line 32, 1st line 35 (G, Couts). D-men tend to play well for an additional year over forwards, so Sanheim is probably safe up to 33 or so.,
Locking up guys like Frost, Tippett, TK, etc. at reasonable rates when you have lots of cap room makes good sense, you're going to want some seasoned vets to go with the players under 25, and better your own than buy some mercenaries like NJ did (Hamilton, Palat, etc.). Even if they're an overpay five years from now, the cap will be up $20M and you'll have top talent on ELCs and first RFA deals.
What's the rush to trade Hart or anyone else who is young and under a reasonable contract? Kolosov should come over next season to the AHL, Zavragin to the KHL, Bjarnason to the AHL in two years. As long as you don't have to break the bank, see how the young goalies develop.

Could have used this kind of depth in 2010...
Yeah, the year everyone moved for 2nd round picks so the Flyers couldn’t do anything because they didn’t have any because they traded one for Carcillo and WITH Denis Gauthier. They were lucky to hit on Leino, but the forward depth was in big trouble in the first half of the playoffs. They had Jared Ross and Andreas Nodl killing penalties in overtime vs. Boston in game 4.Ironically, having 7 NHL capable defensemen, plus Staal as a tertiary option for a 6 defenseman set up, is what teams would kill for when preparing for a playoff run.

GKJ I selfishly want to see more Drysdale lolDon’t have to scratch any, you can play 7D. It’s working right now, and you can save for the playoffs
Well he’s not going anywhere unless it turns out he isn’t goodGKJ I selfishly want to see more Drysdale lol
That was a misspelling. @CanadianFlyer88 meant to write Tortiary. In this case, tertiary means available if everyone else in the entire org was shanked in an alley and Mark Howe didn’t want to come out of retirement?
I can almost hear the sound bites from last year's playoffs lauding his intangibles. Surely there's a sucker who'll ask about him around the trade deadline, right? In this case, tertiary means available if everyone else in the entire org was shanked in an alley and Mark Howe didn’t want to come out of retirement?
