Hmm.. I don’t think he’s as fast as Fantilli, but yegor is definitely fast … why is it , in a 4 day span we have 2 Russian players not comfortable here ? They really need to look at the support they are providing … I feel Yegor has all the tools to be a special player

Threatening is a quite common Russian tactic, and if you give in there will be more threats. The agent is starting the negotiation.

Kid just needs to be less inconsistent. Its not even about the point pace its just the up and down play. Have games like last night and youll be noticed but you cant have those games and then disappear for the next 3.

The team gave him too much too soon and he didnt get time to develop properly. I dont know how strongly he feels about it all or if its his agent seeing a good time to get his client attention but he really just needs to keep quiet and put in work every game.

Threatening is a сommon tactic his agent, Shumi Babayev. He is known for that in the KHL. One's a trained lawyer, so what else can you expect? :sarcasm:
Btw, he is not Russian. I mean nationality, because Russians have two words:
русские (russkiye) Russian as nationality
россияне (rossiyane) Russian as citizens of the state and there are many nationalities live in Russia

Leaving the NHL is the one tactic Russians (or to a lesser extent, other Europeans) can use that North American players can't.

I don’t see why he’d want to leave Columbus right now. He starts to get more ice time, seems to be gaining confidence plus he won’t have a luxury of a bunch of Russian players on most other teams

If he doesn't want to be here, let him walk back to Cleveland.

If his agent thinks it's acceptable to jerk around the fans who are paying his salary, maybe he needs a better agent?

Glad I didn't buy that jersey ....

He looks like the best player on the team right now to me.
Part of it is obviously he got more ice time and he feels that the coaches have confidence in him.

He needs to work on two things - defensive game and shot accuracy, he still misses the net a lot

Some times you just gotta get some things off your chest. He complained publicly, and now he's thriving.

"Use me, give me high expectations so that I may rise to them. Don't treat me like fodder, expect more from me."

He's been hitting the net more often than Laine this season.

Chinny is 2nd on the team shooting at 19%, Danforth is first at 20%.

Laine surprisingly is shooting 14%

Jackets have 6 players shooting above 15%!

He's one of my favorite players right now. It has been really fun to watch him improve, he has a great work ethic. Every season he's taken a step, the work he's put in is so obvious - it jumps off the page. Him and Marchenko aren't scared to shoot or make plays, they actually want the puck on their stick unlike the shaky and fleeting veterans on the team. Chinakhov has not only improved himself physically and skill wise - his hard work granted him confidence.

I'm excited for the near future team led by the Russians, Fantilli, Jiricek, and Johnson. I see those guys as true play makers. All of them make things happen and want to take charge. They have a decisive boldness guys like Laine often lacks.
