Seeing as Kevin Adams likes players on shitty contracts, do you think he may be interested in Trenin?I really like Trenin but was a chicken shit move.
Trenin was not on his hands and knees on the ice, he lost balance and punches would be expected. You don't expect a punch when the ref holds your hand preventing you to defend yourself from a punch to the face. When there is no interference and both players are on their skates, then its a fair fight. Its not fair to have someone tie your hands while the other player on top is punching you clean right in the face. How can you compare these two, its crazy to even think they are similar scenarios.
Hockey's too soft nowadays. What happened to I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down?
Video of the cheapshot:
Dirty but not the dirtiest punch I've ever seen. That probably goes to Probert on Maguire. Chara's jaw breaking sucker punch on Ivanans is up there too.
Again, the whole situation started out because the giant Coke head had been running Barrasso all game. Maguire ran the Chevy in net and that started the line brawl. That's Probert's payback because during the line brawl Macguire took the opportunity to fight Steve Yzerman.
The replies in this thread are so bad I wonder if anyone is actually serious. It was a cheapshot that you rarely see, nothing that forbort did was unusual or "deserving" of it, and when it does happen both teams know a line was crossed. What Trenin did is what can lead to fighting being banned.
There was nothing similar in that fight. Kuraly had a late attempt at the same time they hit the ice, which happens in many fights, but he was letting up and both players knew when to quit. Trenin got a bullseye in so late the linemen was already holding back Forbort.

yeah, no salty tears detected there.Again, the whole situation started out because the giant Coke head had been running Barrasso all game. Maguire ran the Chevy in net and that started the line brawl.
I see people landing punches on the guy on the ice, frequently with linemen involved, about every 4th or 5th fight. If the guy on the ice took liberties, either before or during the fight, it makes it much more likely to occur. The only thing unusual about this event is the punch actually landing and causing damage. It happens all the time.I guess I shouldn't be surprised that people are trying to equate Forbort throwing punches as Trenin is getting ragdolled with Trenin's punches where Forbort has been lying on the ice long enough for Trenin to get up in a position over Forbort and punch down at him as the linesman is trying to stop him.
What Forbort did wasn't that unusual in a fight. Both players are still relatively on their feet and scrambling.
What Trenin did is a dirty POS move. Forbort was lying on his back on the ice for several seconds.
And I'm not a fan of either team of player in this incident.
That's Probert's payback because during the line brawl Macguire took the opportunity to fight Steve Yzerman.
Hockey is great because the players can police the game themselves a little bit. But players also need to follow the code. If players aren't supposed to throw punches when the guys is down, then don't.This league needs to decide where it stands on fighting. You can’t have soft penalties for this stuff and then clutch your pearls when a guy gets hurt during a fistfight.
Matt Johnson sucker punching Andrei Nazarov and breaking his cheek and eye socket. As dirty of a player Nazarov was, Johnson was the biggest POS I've ever seen play. And props to Nazarov for getting up and going after Johnson with a broken face. There's no video of the actual sucker punch, but I was at the game and he got 4 games.
And Johnson sucker punched Beukeboom later in his career and got a dozen games
nailed it. I mean it’s not surprising at this pointI'm shocked at the outrage. Must be a combo of Injury + European did it.
The Code is real, but it isn't always followed. Trenin's punch is an example. The code isn't real, you all would have lost your mind watching hockey in the 80s
And he didn’t really connect with those punches. The second one id barely classify as a punch.Yeah Forbert threw punches when Trenin was falling down on all fours losing his balance.
Potomski, a supposed enforcer, got fed in the brawl by Nolan.
