Call me Kirk Muller, cuz I just took over the last place team in league 5. Good roster actually and I think they're capable of grabbing that last playoff.

Hope we can get a couple more people to re-fill the league.

I took a spot too, renamed as The Eh Team, and that roster is/was a mess.

Just got offered Perry, Parise and Karlesson for Ovechkin and Patrick Kane.

My +/- takes a pretty big hit here and so do my hits losing Ovechkin. Ovy's start is bothering me so I'm looking to unload him but it's hard to move a guy like Ovy. It's also hard to accept because of Parise's slow start and whether or not he returns to his former self this year.

Should I pull the plug?

The value here is close, Perry is probably the only one from that top-line playing somewhat well fantasy wise. Karlsson is racking up the assists and Parise is a risk at this point. If you need G, A, PPP and SOG, I think this is not a bad trade.

Kane is the best fantasy player in this deal right now considering Ovie's funk, if he picks it up and Perry/Parise continue to have an off year, you lose this trade I imagine, but not severely.

This is the type of trade you make if you are sitting in the bottom half of your league at the 1/3rd to 1/2 mark of the season for a shake-up to try and make a comeback. However with the Caps, and Anaheim getting new coaches it may work now since both Ovie and Perry could be reinspired.

Unless you really need the +/- I think this is a fair shake-up trade.

Thanks for the input. I'm currently in 3rd in my league and only a few points behind 1st and 1 point behind second so I don't really need to shake anything up yet I don't think. Just looking to make my team better if I can. I think I'll just wait on the response to the proposal and wait to see if Ovy steps it up with his new coach.

I think there were 5 actives. Now with the turnover of the new 3, we should have a strong 8.

After I bragged about being unstoppable, I tied 5-5 and am now getting hammered this week. I shoulda kept my mouth closed.

Edit: Jayman, or anyone else that knows, could you make a list of what posters in this forum are in league 5? Tough to tell by the team names, and I only know a few of you.

It's ok tho, Canes are wack. I rather see them keep losing.

Unlike a lot of weak goaltender performances, I don't believe it's a Cam Ward issue. Carolina is significantly worse than I though they were going to be. I'm praying that Muller can do something about the defense because my Champs League was counting on Ward and, at the moment, UFA pickup Craig Anderson is my anchor.

Visnovsky, yes, Markov, no. Wouldn't ever touch Markov even scooping him off waivers!

Kipper is available if someone in league 5 is lacking goalies and is looking for a serviceable #2, Howard is not, however.

Also anyone with struggling goalies who are usually good, but on poor teams this year, if the FA pool has some decent pick-ups who have been playing well during spot starts, it might be worth it to sacrifice an extra forward, especially a deep position like center, to drop for one of the goalies.

Sometimes rotating 4-5 goalies, some who are hot, or spot starting over a slumping #1 is the only way to salvage the goalie categories since dropping the slumping goalie is not an option.

That is, if you aren't able to make a trade using one of your strong areas.

In a deep league for example I am rotating, Pavelec, Rask, Bobrovsky, Giguere, and have been lucky with Elliot. Between all of them I have won goalie categories most weeks. Not every league will have that many decent netminder options available in FA, for instance in a 12 team league right now the only available goalies are Clemmensen, Biron, Bernier, Chris Mason, and Boucher. I'm stuck with Pavelec, Giguere, and Schneider. It's a short roster too, so I can't really sacrifice the forward spot to get Clemmensen or Bernier.

All depends on the league, FA pool, and what you're willing to risk.
