I saw Subban and Benn do a nice give and go during the canada game. In other news, I saw the future of the dallas stars today :sarcasm:

I'd love for Lehts to steal the job from Rask then dominate to win gold.

Was pulling for Kari to get the shutout, but he got screened on that power play marker. No chance.

Still, Finland looking like the class of the tournament so far, two very strong games!

Have to feel for Texan Katie Uehlander (sp?) finished 0.04s behind a place on the medal podium in women's skeleton. That is a crazy sport

I don't care what anyone says, I love these Finnish flag jerseys.

Yeah they do look a LOT better in game than they did in the revealing and off-ice hullabaloo.

Opinions who thinks will start v Canada? Didn't get to watch Kari today, but Tuuka looked like ****. Kinda hope Tuuka starts and gets ****ing bombed by Canada, and Kari plays the rest.

Kari looked very composed, in control, and surprisingly active handling the puck.

There seem to be 2 schools of thought on how they're going to handle it: Stick with the plan, which was presumed to be Rask-Lehtonen-Rask and then reassess afterward. I'm sure they want to beat Canada, but it's not absolutely critical and may be worth it just to see if they can get Rask back on his game. The other option being ride the hot hand and if Kari can turn in a top flight performance against the best then you've got your goalie for the balance of the tournament. If not, well you can always go back to Rask although it'd be after a minor vote of no confidence. Personally I think they will go Rask again with a possible quick hook if things go south.

God, it feels like I'm talking about a Vancouver playoff series.

And yeah, logically, I don't think you can start Kari against a team as strong as Canada and give yourself the best chance going forward, unless you had that much confidence he was the best bet in the knockout stage. Rask, for that reason, is most likely.

Whether Kari is better than Rask is up for debate, but what isn't is Rask's experience in the playoffs on the big stage recently. Outside of Dallas Rask is generally considered the better goalie (I do too), which Finland showed by going to him in the first game.

I agree with piqued that they probably go back to Rask but if he gives up a quick couple of goals he probably doesn't last long.

Slovenia is a nice surprise so far in the Games! Kopitar had a nice goal to pull them ahead 3-0 mid 3rd period over Slovakia. The first goal by Slovenia was weak on Halak's part, but overall Slovenia was solid. I heard Elliott Friedman say that since 1980 a total of 5 Slovenians have been drafted to the NHL. On this team, Kopitar of course has NHL experience along with Jan Mursak, who has played in under 40 games.

This is interesting. I mean Finland's defence aint exatly like Boston's.. Might Kari have edge there because Finnish defence is more like Dallas's defense? But though Rask has more experience in playoffs.

Benn sitting next to Crosby at the USA Russia game. Had they not been wearing matching team Canada jackets, I'm not sure you'd know they were there together. Oh the awkward silence :)
