Serious question here, way back in the day, when a goalie got pulled didnt they used to take a few shots on him to warm up or is my childhood memory failing me?

yes you are correct. i believe they got rid of that practise about 10 years ago . i might be off on that though.

They did. Makes no sense not to. They should just take a commercial break when there's a goalie change if it's that big of a deal.

i think you can ask for it. Considering it was 5 minutes into the period they must have felt he was warm

They put an end to that a long time ago because coaches would pull goalies to get long timeouts in critical points in the game.
