So now you're backtracking. We should listen to him about his comments on the Grieg incident but not take his word for it about the Xhekaj incident. I guess we should all just listen to you a qualified expert who just went back on his word.

He literally said he understood how the refs applied the rules which resulted in two different penalties.

Who’s backtracking?

Your own commentator understands why they called what they did.

He didn't jump? Bro watch the highlight then book an appointment with your optometrist
Stop crying. It was a late hit and Stutzle should have known better than puck watching his pass after Grieg late hit on Dach and not answering the bell. It's unfortunate his stick was in the way and I'm pretty sure that's what injured him. Hoping for a quick recovery for Stutzle.

One game the Habs are proud of themselves for enacting vigilante justice in response to dirty play, the next they are the ones joyously basking in their own shitty behaviour.

Maybe pick a lane? Nothing worse than being a pathetic hypocrite.

Don’t get what you’re trying to say. Both hits were late. One targets the head and the other is shoulder to shoulder. X is getting suspended. Or he should be. His hit was an obvious attempt to hit the head and cause serious injury. Imo the Habs will give him a good talking to. If he continues along his current cowardly path, they will dump him.

not only that, back to back games with intent to do harm in retribution. Habs fans pointing out a hit earlier in the game is doing their player no favours here. If that’s going to be the narrative the league has to do something significant.

It was a very late hit on Kirby Dach who was without the puck.

Dach was Montreal’s best players on the ice tonight.

Arber Xhekaj decided to answer this by targeting Ottawa’s best player.

(Not defending him or saying it was justified, just stating the events.)

If we're playing this stupid eye-for-an-eye game where dirty play is justified as revenge, Struble hit Greig with a very late hit as retaliation well before Xhekaj tried to take off Stutzle's head.

No justification for what Xhekaj tried to do. Just pure unadulterated stupidity from a room tempature IQ.

This whole stick argument is so dumb. It's not like Xhekaj lifted Stutzle's stick or something and that was it. His shoulder was hitting Stutzle's head regardless of whether the stick was there - it was him that caused the stick to hit his face.

That's what Habs fans are complaining about?
It's literally the same type of hit.

Pretty late? Check.
Head not main point of contact? Check.
Arms raised slightly? Check.
Left the player down for an extended period? Check.

That's exactly what happened. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

His horrible play costs his team during the regular season, too. He’s part of the reason the Habs are annual basement dwellers
Indeed. He had a role to play in Laine getting hurt. When your team employs a goon who isn't NHL caliber to injure others during preseason, don't be surprised when the same happens to you.

There you go. Late hit for both players. One had his stick in the way which resulted in getting a stick in the face while the other one did not. Very similar hit - Late and unnecessary but if you're going to target our best player and not answer the bell you have to expect the other team player hard on your star players.

Montreal fans spent 5 days telling everyone how tough X was because Pare turtled when he got jumped just for him to turtle when Tkachuk grabbed him, what a bum.
I am pretty confident Xhekaj will fight Tkachuk anytime he wants. That's a nice exchange, first line player vs 6th defenseman he will take that anyday.
