Sportsnet has a special on him airing today at 9:30. I'm not sure if they're the same, but I can't imagine they do 2 on him, but you never know.

Great story and makes you love the kid even more

Choked me up a few times. Easy kid to cheer for, fantastic parents.

Hockey parents, take note.. they never pressured him, they tell him to go out and have fun and set a good example. Yelling at officials and putting the pressure of the world on your kids is not how you create NHLers.

My mancrush since last year rookie camp. He's everything. Great guy from modest family that will knock you out with one punch. Already the total package yet with tons of room to improve...

Great story that Xhekaj

Neo Canadians people that succeed is great .

Having played college football at high level ; I’ve seen lots of athletes. I can tell Xhekaj isn’t done filling is body. Hell get even stronger and by a wide margin. He’s only 21. Much room to grow still

His father had no choice but to flee his native country and found a way to get to Macedonia, then to Sweden and eventually to England.

It’s in England where he heard that Canada is the best country in the world and made his way here without a passport and was received as a refugee. A great story.

As for the Costco connection, I couldn’t believe that his mother still works there. And when he used some of his early income to buy brand new appliances for his parents, they came from Costco lol.

Great feature. Could have been a full length documentary, I’m sure there’s a lot more to the story.
