Toronto is a top team in the East - 4th place, 3 points back of 1st. Their first round pick will not be very high and does not have much value to them. Gaborik really helps out their offense - they have no good right wingers without him, Vrbata being their best at 81 overall. Gabby will be their best forward.


The trade is good for me because Gabby is a vet and I want to tank. Picking up Reilly will give me filthy defense in the future - likely a top four of Doughty, Murray, Reilly, and possibly Oleksiak.​
