I still don't understand why, when we took Sean Farrell, we didn't also take Brett Berard. He was the leading scorer of the USNDTP in the USHL where Farrell was also playing and was still available in the 5th round...

but at least we got Farrell, Roy, Mysak, Kidney, and Simoneau from the last two drafts after the first round - better offense than most drafts. We'll of course have to see who, if any, pan out at the NHL level.

Plus Tuch who has some hands and so does Biondi if he can ever fix that giddy up in his skating. I would also add Kapanen who like some others needs to work on his skating and getting quicker but that shot is legit and he's a solid 2 way player.

We have a lot of shoot first players on the team, nice to have a playmaking prospect in the system in addition to Kidney.

In fact, we'd be a much better team right now if we had few pass first players to the puck to our shoot first players - though we of course have a gazillion other holes.

What's the deal with Simoneau? What are his flaws outside of being small?

mainly just the height as I wouldn't be surprised if he's closer to 5'6. But I really like his game, granted I haven't seen a ton but I've been more impressed with him this year then I was with RHP in his overage year. So it's going to be very interesting to watch him in Laval or 3R depending on who they bring back next year.

I think Simoneau can make Laval.

I guess he'll be on an AHL deal and won't get an NHL deal?

I expect a good year from him in Laval but if he's in 3R I would expect him to be one of the top players. Good mix of skill and hard work/effort, can't wait to see how he does at the pro level.

I too have Simoneau starting in 3R in my mock lines. He, Hillis, Stapley, and Xhekaj. Which would make 3R more fun to keep an eye on with 3-4 prospects there.

I don't think Simoneau will stay long, though. I see him get called up to Laval and he stays there.

Obviously he's short but he's one of the most jacked players we have in the system, look at his training video the Rocket posted, he's built like a tank
