Well this is a surprise. Jack leading them out in warm ups. Rynnas looked late onto the ice.

Wonder if Campbell is starting then.

Jack is looking very good. Half way through the game and Toronto up by one but the goal against Campbell's fault. Defense failed to pick up a guy coming off the bench on the backside.

Welp, once again Texas loses in OT 4-3. It's hard to put any blame on Campbell because he actually looked good and basically every shot on goal was a quality shot.

Almost every goal came from a turnover, the last two he had the clearest views but got beat. He probably should have made those saves but overall not a bad game for having to come in suddenly for a back to back. Turns out Rynnas took a shot to the hand this morning.

He's been.....readjusting is I think the best way to put it. Haven't really noticed anything from him the last two games.

I see that Dalhuisen is send back. How do the Texas Stars sell the game worn jersey`s. I realy like to get a hand on his one, a dutchman in Texas ( the AHL ),.....it will never happen again .

Usually they might do something at the end of the season. Dalhuisen's jersey all depends on if he's coming back to Texas this season (I think he will, forget if he has a AHL-ECHL contract). If he isn't and they recycle his number, they may recycle the jersey too.

No idea until the end for sure.

Soooo yeeaahhh...Texas loses to Rochester 6-5, after leading 4-1.

Rynnas gave up 3 goals in the second and was replaced by Campbell in the third. Rynnas played really badly. Campbell's 2 goals against were at least more difficult ones (a redirect and a bad turn over in the slot).

Dowling and Morin had a good game. Ranford too. Everyone else...not so much.

Has Honka hit a wall? Still have high hopes for him?

Really? This is already being asked?

He's 19 years old, in his rookie year, playing against men for the first time on a bad team with a new coach.

Revisit this question in a year or two.

Honka is going to be in the AHL for like 2-3 more years. Get used to it and be patient.

I don't see any of the games, only check the stats, but disappointing to see last night's numbers. Campbell letting in 5 on 26 shots in the 5-2 loss.

I'm still in the belief that he needs to play more to find a groove (given that he is healthy), but he also needs to help himself out. Really time to step it up.

Like I said though, I only see the stats. No clue on what goals are getting by him.

From what I heard last night, it was pretty bad. Even one of his biggest fans was sad and even suggested trading him.

I'm to the point that I'm calling this season a wash for both a winning season and prospect progression.

I think the best thing to do, especially now, is to try to salvage the latter, and hope that it salvages the former. I still say give the kid the bulk. Let him sink or swim honestly.

Mentioned it briefly in the Val thread, but it's pretty interesting to think about the resources likely headed Texas's way at the end of several junior, European, and NCAA seasons. Texas needs to pull there head out of their ass though and actually make the playoffs for this to matter much.

Jason Dickinson: Likely makes it one round in the playoffs. Probably destroyed 2nd round by SSM or Erie.

Cole Ully: Was not traded at the deadline. Won't make the playoffs. Will be one of the first arrivals to Texas.

Ludwig Bystrom: Just loaned to Timra. Neither FBK or Timra appear headed for long runs. He could end up back with FBK by Jan. 31st.

Devin Shore: He and Maine are both having awful seasons. I think it makes sense for him to turn pro now, but poor season could see him return as a senior. Maine won't be in the tournament.

From the NHL: Brett Ritchie, Patrick Nemeth, Jamie Oleksiak, Jyrki Jokipakka ... outside shot but probably unlike Val Nichushkin.

Esa Lindell might be able to play a few weeks with Texas if his team is out of the playoffs early, but he'll eventually play for Finland at the WC. I doubt he makes the trip honestly. Klingberg did last year. He was suppose to join Sweden after spending a small amount of time with Texas before hurting himself.

Remi Elie and Philippe Desrosiers are arguably on the the best teams in the OHL and QMJHL respectively. Unlikely they come.

Hansson and Makela could potentially come in an observatory role as Bystrom and Lindell have in the past. Neither will play in Texas next year so neither likely plays if they come over to observe. Molin seems like a bust at this point.

McKenzie-Morin-Rallo
Ranford-Dowling-Ritchie
Hulak-Smith-Glennie
Ully/Dickinson- -Stransky

Scratched: Peters, Troock*, Henderson*, Root, Ully/Dickinson
Injured: Faksa

Nemeth-Klingberg
Jokipakka-Honka
Oleksiak-Fortunus
Meech

Scratches: Bystrom, Gaunce, Wrenn, Valentine

*Injured but returning soon

Just playing around the potential guys, it's hard to figure out a lineup. Laxdall doesn't use his 4th line like Willie D, and they're overflowing with good D. I wonder if they'd play 7. Klingberg is playing Top 4 NHL minutes so they might decide he doesn't need the AHL playoffs, but I think they should play him if they can.

I definitely would not have Klingberg play even more hockey at the end of the NHL season. They've already got to be concerned about the physical wear and tear he's taking.
