Proposal: Wyatt Johnston to Montreal

They do it in a second. Would be idiotic not to. Way harder to find a top line center than maybe a top line winger. Demidov is a great prospect but there's no way they don't do that. Positional importance alone but being proven on a great contract tips the scales tremendously.

No they wouldn’t. Johnston is a good young player, and will continue to develop, but Demidov’s ceiling is just too high. No way I trade him for Johnston. Of course there’s no guarantee that Demidov reaches that ceiling, but I wouldn’t want to take the chance on trading him.

Montreal fans are a special breed. Maybe you don't watch Dallas I'm not sure but there isn't a GM in the NHL who doesn't make that deal in a second. That takes nothing away from Demidov but as I explained in my previous post positional importance, proven hockey and contract make it a no brainer. How much higher do you think Demidovs ceiling is exactly.....

Lol of course someone has to come in with the hyperbole. Hutson is more valuable already. Suzuki vs Johnston is a toss up in terms of value; there’s a chance that Johnston has greater potential, and he’s younger, but Suzuki is better right now and is still young and has development runway left himself. Touch choice. Suzuki is certainly more valuable to MTL than Johnston would be, that much I know.

And DAL would certainly be “intrigued” at the very least if Hughes called them up and offered Demidov for Johnston. Stop being such a homer.

Lol how tf would you know? And Johnston is a good young player, but he doesn’t look like a superstar or anything. Maybe he gets there, but maybe he doesn’t. I wouldn’t trade Demidov for him, and I’m sure plenty of others feel the same. Get over it.
