I wonder if they taped it to air on the 22nd or the 29th because neither date has a Smackdown scheduled. The 22nd is an open date and the 29th has two Holiday Tour shows in Toronto and Las Vegas. Maybe one of the 22nd/29th will be a "Best Of" episode and the other is the episode taped in Green Bay.

Next week is the taped episode. The week after might be a best of show, and then it's live again for the 5th.

Regular RAW this week, Christmas day is a best of show and it sounds like the New Year's Day show is live and being called "Day 1"

Between Orton and AJ, I'm betting that these guys either know they're not being tested when they go away, or they've found something that's currently legal and/or wont show up on tests. (Betting the former, because it's specifically guys who go away)

I get that it's easier for these guys to work out off the road, and probably a lot easier to recover when you're not wrestling... But it's not natural for a 46 year old man to make that kind of transformation in two months lol.

Waiting to see Sami come back looking like Luger.

It's possible, and Orton was likely considered inactive. I'm sure there are loopholes that can always be used to look the other way when they want to
Randy was out 18 months with an injury that required extensive rehabbing from what I understand and I would not rule either WWE releasing something out of it or him going on Shamuus's Celtic Warrior Workout channel talking about what he did in gym during that time.

The loophole is "How many dollars do you draw for the company" lol. They had to come down heavy handed when the Benoit thing happened and for some time after. Can't say I remember the last time a guy got suspended for steroids. Quite a few for drugs, but don't recall the last steroid violation.

Brock was under contract with the WWE and failed a UFC test, and nothing happened. If I'm not mistaken, either Hardy or Orton had a third failure and that was when the "Wellllll failures can fall off after a certain amount of time" stipulation came about.

I'm guessing if they do still test and enforce, they don't test when you're away, and may even give a "Hey we wont be testing you when you're gone *Wink wink*" speech.

Little bit different because he was fired and not under contract, but it's laughable that they played up Jinder Mahal's body transformation when he was gone, like his puffy titties weren't screaming "GYNO" every time he was shirtless in the ring.

I'm suspicious of Drew while he was gone, too...

Roman was suspended for performance enhancers pre-pandemic I believe

It was the year Rollins came back from his knee injury. They let him work long enough to drop the belt to Rollins (Who dropped it to Ambrose) and then suspended him.

... But I believe the rumor around that was Adderall that he didn't have prescribed.

Yeah it's pro wrestling, I don't think they need to make coverup videos of him working out with Sheamus, most fans expect the guys to be roided up, this isn't the olympics, nobody really cares if those guys are juiced to the gills

Yeah, I don't recall the specifics, that may have been it, but either way, I think anyone who has watched wrestling for more than 10 minutes knows that the promoters are generally going to look the other way as long as guys aren't being blatant about it like having shit delivered to their houses in giant boxes with STEROIDS written on the side or showing up on lists in the newspaper like Kennedy did, I know JR has said in the past that he thinks steroids should be legal for those guys and I would imagine that opinion is shared with more than a few folks in the business

I think part of it, too, is that we know more about steroids than we did even ~15 years ago when Benoit happened. What's "Safe" and what's not, etc.

... Plus I think most people now realize that the Benoit murders/suicide had a lot more to do with CTE than steroids.
