Plan is probably to pass Hogan as the "longest" reigning champion, to kind of write him out of the history books. So another year and a bit to go with Roman as Champ.

Hogan isnt the longest reigning champ its Bruce Samartino and then Bob Backlund (two guys Reigns should never approach as his reign has been bad for over a year now and they are still 3+ years out)

Reigns needs to drop the title at WM40.

The bloodline is a bore, reigns has lost a ton of heat, and his character needs a humbling breakdown and then potential new character arc if he wants to continue around

People have short attention spans. All of these breaks lose any momentum he may have been building and/or once had. His championship(s) have become a joke. At this point with him not being around much it has diminished the feat of beating him for whomever that ends up being. WWE can try to hype up the number of days all they want and how great and amazing it is that _________ defeated Roman Reigns to end his reign yet so few will care. It won't do anything to put the new champion on a higher pedestal.
