Like it or not, he's going right to the top if he comes back. He 100% bumps Cody for the Mania Roman program. Maybe they work it into a triple threat at Mania and Punk is Cody's first feud after the latter pins Punk for the belt?

Also makes Roman look really strong still and gives him a good story to come back with after his time off to say he never got pinned and is coming back for the title.
They'd sooner throw Punk against Rollins than Punk against Roman over Cody. The only person throwing Cody off Roman is Rock.

I don't disagree, but I can't help but to feel Fox is going to fight hard to have him on their network. Punk Rollins is money but Gunther-Punk doesn't have the same feel to it.

You figure Drew geeks out to Rollins, and then you can have Punk come in and save the day for the Wargames match. I'm not sure how you end up with Punk-Rollins at Wrestlemania, but there's 5 months to build that.

Honestly, now that SD is sold and FOX showed no interest in retaining their broadcasting rights, I don't think WWE gives a f*** what FOX wants.

Actually, to your point, I think that'd be all the more reason to run him with Rollins. Put him on RAW to pump their numbers as they try to sell.

Either way you slice it, a Punk return adds a ton of intrigue wherever he sets up camp.

If he goes to Raw, I'd argue that Punk-Rollins doesn't need the belt to amplify the feud. You can do much more with a Priest cash in/championship run or a Balor/McDonagh briefcase bait and switch in which you have Balor holding the belt to amplify the JD story. I still think it would be really cool to see a "Judgment Day Black" and "Judgement Day Purple" splinter of the stable like they did with nWo with Priest, Ripley, and Dom on one side with Balor, JD, and TBD on the other (Liv Morgan maybe?) with Priest's side the faces in the story. Or you just have Priest lonely wolf it and go in to Mania as the face against Balor.

If they go that route, I'd just have Gunther dominate the midcard a few more weeks. Have him cut a promo a couple weeks before the Rumble to the degree of "I've beaten everyone and everybody at this level, and to prove I'm the best, I'm entering myself #1 in the Rumble and finish what I started last year", but have him be eliminated due to Gable hijinks to kick off that story again. Gable goes over at Mania and Gunther comes back around Summerslam and wrecks shit and becomes champion then beating Balor/Priest.

I feel like Saturday was set up perfectly with Priest being injured and Rhea taking the briefcase from him for Balor to have stolen it and cashed in on Rollins, with Balor trying to "Justify" that they needed to walk out with gold after losing the tag titles.

And then build to Balor vs. Priest for the title at WM. I don't think that's a main event, but with a strong women's title match (My suggestion was Suit Profit Bianca vs. Rhea) you don't need it to be the main event.

I don't really get what we're doing with Seth at this point. I don't like to use the term "Coasting" for him, because he's an incredible performer, but he is kinda "Coasting" on his reputation. His character sucks and he's essentially over because of a catchy crowd-involved entrance theme and his reputation as an incredible performer.

He's almost booked as an AEW talent. Not much character (Outrageous clothing isn't a character) and no apparent long term direction. They just book him against the next challenger knowing he'll have a great match, and half ass slap a feud together. The only saving grace the last two months has been that they finally figured out a fantastic way to present Nakamura.

If Punk does come back to WWE, I'd imagine it's because he likes to work in a "professional environment" ie. locker room. That locker room also has enough veterans/leadership that would keep his ego in check, which might be what he needs or even wants? I think a program with Rollins might be a good fit for him. From what I've gathered, he has no problems putting younger guys over too.

Rollins will do pretty much whatever the company wants lol.

Now, he might protest putting Punk over, and would honestly be justified in doing so considering he laid down for Cody 3-4 times consecutively... But he'd work with Punk.

That being said, Uncle Dave is now also reporting that WWE has opted not to sign Punk. Though he did claim that could change at any point, especially if business starts to cool off.

They (the WWE) is clearly using some Punk hints, too. Some Punk quotes on commentary, a GTS by Nakamura on Monday...

I think there's definitely some talks between the two.

Doesn't sound like Booker T wants CM Punk returning to the WWE. On a recent podcast he was asked about the possibility of Punk coming back and this was his response:

At this point in time right now when everything is going so great, not just from an in-ring perspective and an out of ring perspective as well as far as the company is doing great, what does CM Punk add to WWE right now at this point? What does CM Punk add to WWE?

Let's look at it from this perspective right here. If CM Punk had worked his contract in AEW and it was coming up and CM Punk didn't sign with AEW and WWE actually got in and got him and boom, I think we would have something, but CM Punk, he didn't just leave WWE.

He got fired from WWE. He didn't just leave AEW. He got fired with cause from AEW. What value does a person like that bring to your company? I mean, I'm just being honest here.
