I don't recall when WWE began spending so much time on the current episode rehashing shit from the previous episode or the past but these clips of past events are intrusive time wasters that I would find annoying if I was in the audience. Especially on the shorter Smackdown.

Trish has a legitimate broken nose, that’s why she’s wearing that mask!

How on earth are they going to keep Zoey out of that steel cage without a roof and the door being opened every 30 seconds?!

They’re doing the edge 25th anniversary thing so that will be the main event

I think it's complete BS but Edge's trainer is saying that this will be Edge's last match......ever.....for good......he's done. :thumbd:

from ringsidenews.com:

Edge's trainer let the cat out of the bag that his client is probably retiring Friday. Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio said the following:

“There’s a big thing here. A year ago, Edge had said he was gonna retire at the (2023) summer show in Toronto.

“And Ron Hutchinson, who is Edge’s trainer, and has known Edge for 30 years, he basically said that this is Edge’s last match.

“They certainly did not (build it up like that). But that was interesting where he said it’s probably – it’s most likely Edge’s last match.

“I think the idea was that Edge thought that maybe SummerSlam was gonna be in Toronto and was hoping for that, and then that would be where he would retire. Because he wants to retire in Toronto, and this is the year he was talking about retiring, for real, the second retirement.

“This is the last Toronto show for a while, I mean, there’ll be another one. So I don’t know if this is the retirement, they’re not billing it as such, but his trainer said that it’s probably his last match.”

People auditioning to be Chelsea's partner would have been amusing, but it's nice to see Piper Niven given a chance.

I think Edge walked that back. Maybe his deal is up though.

I hope they don't end it at Piper. She needs to have a different partner each week until she finds "the one" - I feel it would make for much better TV that way.

It’s interesting what the plan turned out being for Becky and Trish. Now we know why it wasn’t on Summerslam. Although thru could’ve sped it up a bit to get a cage match on that show.

I don't think Edge is retiring on Friday. I think he's going to have a main event match against Sheamus, he will go over.

I have a gut feeling we might be seeing Bray Wyatt on Friday return at the end of the show in a swerve.

I wonder, is JD McDonagh trying to split Finn from Judgment Day or join them?
I’d rather he join them. But they don’t really do 5-person units. However, they do have a wargames to think about.

I think JD is going to be the guy to put the wedge between Priest and Balor once and for all. I think Priest will get the boot and JD will take his place.

I think there's multiple ways they can go with this and I'd be fine with all of them. Yours being one, JD making Balor turn on the Judgement Day and taking his place or JD taking Balor out of Judgment Day and forming some Irish faction. Or maybe the obvious one, JD is messing with Balor and they'll feud. Long shot, JD is trying to mess with Priest so much that they'll have a match for the briefcase.
