Kane and Wheeler looked good tonight with Jokinen. If they can find some consistency that could be a legitimate #1 line.

I always thought they should be the 1st line.

Only watche the first period...but man the team was rock solid. Definitely came to win!

After an opening game bomb, the arrow is pointing up for the team. Nice tomseemthat Kane recognizes that using your linemates leads to good things.

Only saw the third. What were the lines? How did Scheiffle play (see he only got 8 minutes)?

A good and better effort by the Jets although it's hard to tell because Washington was absolutely terrible.

My game pucks:
1. Thorburn. Disliked his game last year but darn if he didn't play well defensively. Sticking up for Slater in the 3rd with a tussle definitely gives him a leg up from others.
2. Pavs. Two games in a row he's kept us in the game. Good play and cutting down angles is helping his game. Wish his defenders helped him more.
3. Slater. A good two way game, pushed the puck in the corners in a gritty performance. A tussle with a tough guy may not have been the best idea tho.

My sourpuss award goes to none other than Hainsey. Several terrible clears, almost no physical contact and generally a poor performance but Pavs saved him a little today or this game was a lot closer.

Otherwise, a better effort. Maybe Noel will switch lines more often - seems to have worked tonight.

Look for a trade this week! Too many guys on the roster and Scheifele is here to stay IMO.
Go Jets Go!

2nd game of a back to back?
On the road?
Caps haven't lost an opening home game in 10 years?
Missing Bogo and playing Postma / Clitsome on 3rd pairing?

Pffft.

I know it's easy to plan the parade, so to speak, but if that's the team that we have this year (based on the Boston and Caps games), then things could be VERY interesting during the push to a playoff spot.

It was a bit of a crazy night for me so I was only able to watch bits and pieces of the game. I have it PVR for later viewing. From what I saw and from some highlights Enstrom looked really good. Smooth as glass and calm cool and collected. Kane also looked to be amping up his game which is nice to see. Washington looked to play a bit of a soft game, but it appears the ship has righted itself.

Remember, a few more points than games will get teams into the playoffs usually, so to have 3 points in a 3 game stretch when 2 were back to back away games is very good for this team.

Jets really need to find a look alike coach like Ottawa.:sarcasm:

He blocked 6 shots tonight, man. That is fantastic. :handclap:

The Jets blocked 18 shots tonight versus Washington's 10. Good team defense; Hains was a large part of that.

Just over a year ago, the Jets stole a couple of points when the played the Caps - Jets were down 2-0, and came back to eventually win it 3-2 in a SO.

For some reason, they seem to have the Caps number - they're 5-1 since the start of last year.

Got to watch the first period but couldn't watch the rest because I had a hockey game to play. Was pleased to see that they got a 4-2 win, finally seeing some offense on this team.

It was hard to watch them on Saturday, but losing 2-1 in a shootout to the Bruins and then beating a division rival in Washington 4-2, in back to back games, on the road, without Bogosian, is a good sign of how the team has improved since last year. Then again, it's only our third game, so I'm not gonna get too excited. But I'm optimistic we can make a good push towards the playoffs :D

Awesome unexpected W for The jets!

I thought the Jets were winning battles along the boards like they haven't very often.

As someone who's not a fan of Kane, he sure looked good last two games.
I'd like to know if he actually saw Wheeler, or if he just did his patented throw in front of the net, though.
