Washington got fleeced. McMichael should be as good as Kyrou
Kyrou had a disappointing season and matched McMichael.Washington got fleeced. McMichael should be as good as Kyrou
If McMichael gets to round up to a 60 point forward, I guess that makes Kyrou an 80 point forward?A 60 point forward, a 1st, isn't that bad of a return for Kyrou. I don't know enough about the prospect to comment on if he adds any real value, but it looks, on the surface, to be a pretty even deal to me.
I would’ve never thought McMichael was available. He looked really good for the caps. Crazy offseason. Which will keep going. We’re in for an exciting season for the ages.
Honestly starting to wonder if people are mixing McMichael up for someone else? The valuations are wild for a 25 year old who's had one good season and then regressed this year when he was no longer the third wheel on a line with PLD and Wilson. Caps fans have been including him in proposals for a while now and nobody's been treating him as an elite asset.Washington got fleeced. McMichael should be as good as Kyrou
As a Blues fan, I don’t think either team got “fleeced.” It’s a solid hockey trade with both guys needing a change of scenery and the Caps having to pay a bit of a premium because of Kyrou’s solid offensive pedigree and team friendly contact.Washington got fleeced. Yes. Pittsburgh Your Daddys. Believe me, I know what success is. That ain't it.Pens fan?
I don’t see how McMichael needed a change of scenery. I think St. Louis just wanted a youngish NHL forward coming back.As a Blues fan, I don’t think either team got “fleeced.” It’s a solid hockey trade with both guys needing a change of scenery and the Caps having to pay a bit of a premium because of Kyrou’s solid offensive pedigree and team friendly contact.
Fair enough. Perhaps I'm projecting based on some of the comments I've read on the trade from your board that his role had kind of plateaued in the Caps organization if he wasn't going to pan out as a center.I don’t see how McMichael needed a change of scenery. The Caps are just desperate for a top line winger, and McMichael just ain’t that. And when he rounds out the top 6, he’s the clear weak link.Fair enough. Unfortunately he's not. I love Mikey but I don't think he's ever going to hit the 30 goal mark. Probably what we saw the year before last is his peak. He'll need to play exclusively on the LW and have a couple play drivers with him to get back there again and sustain it.Washington got fleeced. McMichael should be as good as Kyrou

Called this a few weeks agoIt's finally happening, I can finally stop reading about Kyrou to MTL.
Thank god.
This feels a little bit weird for Caps tho, no?
lol don’t you have him in a keeper league? I remember you pumping his tires in the GDT’sWashington got fleeced. McMichael should be as good as Kyrou
The rebuild ended 2 years ago brother. Where are you, even without Ovi they have 30 goal scorers in Aleksei Protas, Tom Wilson, and Jordan Kyrou. They have borderline 1Cs (more like high end 2Cs in Strome and PLD). They have a possible 30 goal scorer and possible 1C/almost guaranteed top 6er in Ilya Protas.Shouldn’t Washington be planning the rebuild instead of going all in on a 40 year old Ovy?
I don't think either are elite assets. Kyrou is a 1st line player. McMichael isn't, but he's still a good player. Not sure why people have to crap on players just because they aren't stars. If McMichael gets to round up to a 60 point forward, I guess that makes Kyrou an 80 point forward?

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised in Kyrou was the Caps highest scoring winger this year, scoring 35/40/75.Kyrou is significantly more of a 70 point player than what he produced this year.
