Nobody "won" this trade. This is just two teams swapping problems.

It takes a certain amount of pure denial to credit Blake with moving out a player that he had no business acquiring - again. He has a staggering level of incompetence in reading the terrain in front of him. Celebrating the acquisition of a 34 year old retread with three years remaining on his deal of $5.25 million is like getting praised for only getting the clap from that street walker instead of something worse.

I agree with the above. Two teams swapping shitty contracts. One player is below average but has less term and money. Other player is average to slightly above average but is paid way too much and for too long.

Either way, doesn’t move the needle for either team.

Maybe PLD can be the tank commander for the Capitals in a couple years? They will certainly be able to hit the cap floor more easily. The last 4 years of PLD’s deal will be hard to swallow for them but like others have said, who really cares if the team is awful to begin with.

Even if PLD bounces back and becomes a 55 point player I'm still glad we got out of that contract.
