I'm a little surprised the Leafs let him go this early but he really wasn't gelling and the bottom six was/is struggling hard.

At this point the Leafs might be considering the contract slot as valuable since they need another warm body in net.

We probably need to sign a goalie especially with Samsonov leaving the game injured. And at some point in the spring we will need another contract spot for Matthew Knies.

I think NAK can be a successful NHLer if he cuts out the stupid penalties. He looked much better in pre-season than he did in his 6 regular season games.
