I still think Wright projects to be a similar player as Mark Scheifele (minus the douchebagery).
Mika zibanejad imo seems to be a good comparable.I still think Wright projects to be a similar player as Mark Scheifele (minus the douchebagery).
How many Habs fans don't like Suzuki's lackadaiscal style??Wonder how many of the 101 voters for Wright have seen his lackadaisical style in action... it will be a surprise for many I suspect.
I would do it but doubt the difference between 1OA and 3OA is a player like Chychrun. We would need to add.I say Cooley because my hope is we swap picks with Arizona and get Chychrun.
That would be just crazy. Too much of a gamble imo.If we can somehow switch with Arizona this year and next. We would end up with 1 of those 3 with the 3rd pick tgis year and a great chance for a top 3 next year.
Are you sure it was his name and not his body floating?I would do it but doubt the difference between 1OA and 3OA is a player like Chychrun. We would need to add.
But i'm very anxious to see how a deal with Arizona for Weber's contract can evolve. I've heard Drouin's name floating.
Wright is a better skater than Lemaire and has a much better wrist/snap shot. Lemaire was a smart player who knew how to make his wingers better players. Lemaire was an underrated defensive player who acted as a safety blanket for Lafleur and Shutt who both gave little regard to the defensive side of the game. Lemaire also had one of the best slap shots of his time. If he was still alive, Tony Esposito would agree, as Lemaire scored that pivotal goal on him with a slap shot from just outside the blueline in game seven of the 1971 finals. For us old timers who remember that series and the player Lemaire was at his peak, that was still one of the greatest shots we ever saw. I swear that puck must still be travelling somewhere. If you mean stylistically, no not at all. Completely different players.

And cheap shoting/whining. So technically…Scheifele isn't a two way player at all, he's offense only
Carbo was very skilled, put up 182 pts in his last year of Jr (outscored Denis Savard by 1 pt). Recall reading Habs made him into a defensive forwardMaybe, more a better skilled Guy Carbonneau.
Amazing how 7 posters, representing 2.8% of the poll have been so vocal, banging the drums for Slafkovsky. Crazy how disproportionate this poll is given the conversations going on here.
Slowly restoring my faith in Hab fan being a knowledgeable base.
Hmm I get what your trying to say but I doubt RNH did as well at the combine as Cooley did. RNH was and is a twig.Kinda like Louis Leblanc and RNH were 6' but they were both small.
That line had three guys with an elite shot (a "garnotte" as we'd say) and all three were at least decent passers. Very difficult to defend against. Good times.Wright is a better skater than Lemaire and has a much better wrist/snap shot. Lemaire was a smart player who knew how to make his wingers better players. It was Carbo vs another prospect Dan Daoust, who was sent to Leafs after Carbo won the battle of 3CCarbo was very skilled, put up 182 pts in his last year of Jr (outscored Denis Savard by 1 pt). Recall reading Habs made him into a defensive forward
Wright is a better prospect than Svech was.Personally I think it's a wash, and it won't really matter much which player is drafted.
We are not talking about a McDavid or Matthews here, or even a Svechnikov
Surprise Slaf has so few votes. Thought he'd be a bit more popular based on discussions in other threads. In any case, it's Wright for me. Only player with franchise-level potential, IMO.
Wright is the next Jaques Lemaire for habs. If you are too young to remember Lemaire. Look him up. That is Wright. Pick him.
