I'd probably take this deal as a Jet fan. Really like Werenski, he's cost controlled. Has played with Connor before and fills a big need for us on the LH puck mover side.

I can't really speak for the Winnipeg perspective. I guess some fans want to trade Trouba because he is unsigned.

From an Arizona POV, this trade makes no sense. They need centers, especially potential #1s. They have a great #1 D.

From a Columbus POV, they just drafted their planned 1C and are loaded with 2Cs in Wennberg and Dubinsky and have Jenner and Karlsson as well. They are building from the backline forward and Werenski is an important part of that strategy.

Winnipeg needs to pony up for Trouba's contract. No matter how good he can become, unless he is signed his value is lowered.

Just pay him his $5.5 million and move on.

No, it's not. That's an occasionally useful rule of thumb, not some kind of axiomatic truth. It is unquestionably bad for the Jackets and Coyotes, and not exactly great for Winnipeg as well.

Honestly people talk about Philly's D and their prospects but you guys have 3 of my favorite young D.

Jones can be that legit #1 guy.
Murray can be a mistake free minute eater.
Werenski can be a #1 as well.

All 3 are great skaters with high IQ and good size. You guys could be the next Nashville as far as the D-core goes.
