Best defensive season to date is a stretch.

This shows 2 things.

1. People are incredibly bias
2. Stats aren’t everything. Some of you guys are way to reliant on “stats”

Clearly I’m not ignoring the subject. Come back and talk to me in 3 years when Bouchard isn’t any better and doesn’t match his post season production of last year.

I’m not going to beat a dead horse anymore. You all know my opinion on the subject.

When you make stuff up you really can't call it an opinion anymore. Just sayin

Yeah, others are incredibly bias when you are objective on the matter.

You pretty much say everyone else is bias when they support him.

You also make stuff up as if your opinion or view of the game holds more weight that other posters

In fairness, this guy is just about the biggest Bouchard promoter out there. Bouchard could score an own goal firing it directly into the Oilers empty net and he'd talk about what a great breakout play he made to get in the open to take that shot.

If he's so great defensively, why does KK never have him out defending the lead in the final minutes of a 1 goal game? Always rotates 14/49 & 25/27. That home game recently against LA, Bouchard didn't see the ice for the final 3-1/2 minutes.
Definitely fair!

I would personally say that even his biggest fans won't try to argue that he's a top choice for extended defensive zone shifts. Hence the lack of PK and 6v5 time. I don't know the dude, but I'd wager a bet that he'd agree.

Bouchard will start playing better. I'm calling that now, but no way he replicates last years performance.

Super insightful… he’s not replicating last year… yeah… that was one of the top-5 performances (factoring in +/-) in the last 25 years.

So yeah, he’s not going to repeat that this year and that’s ok.

Let’s say Dobson comes in at 8 and Bouchard comes in at 9.5? If not, what would Dobsons salary have to be compared to 9.5 of Bouchard for you to make the trade if at all.
Half of Bouchard’s. 1.5 million is enough to sign a Janmark level player. Not worth it.

Anyone think Bob's comments today on certain players needing to "read the tea leaves" was directed at Bouchard.
I think he was talking about Jeff Skinner. Bob loves Bouchard.

9 millions is good, but that as high I would go.
Ideally its a long term deal at 8.something.

Even with the cap going up, 9 millions for a defenseman still land you in the top 10 ish for the foreseeable future.

Currently 11 defenseman make north of 9, lots of those contracts are not that great, and are sunset deal about to expire.

He might be the best dman of his generation when it comes to playoffs.

If I'm Bowman and one of my staff even brings up the notion of trading Bouchard they're fired and sent home on the spot.
