It's still OEL being paid $5 million next season by the Canucks to play for the Leafs.
Watching current OEL , still have a hard time believing he:
  • was an accomplished offensive Dman at one point.
  • is considered overpaid
  • Wasn't re-signed by Florida
  • is actually a physical/smart low inpact Dman.

Yeah, which is why a team with arguably the two best players in the league currently is fighting for the playoffs
The Oilers are on pace for 107 points this year. Take way the first three disastrous games at the start and over the last 36 games they are playing at a 116 point pace. Moneypuck has the Oilers playoff odds at 99.6%. Power Rankins Guru at 98.2%. Hockey Reference's model has them with a more modest 93.1% chance.

At this time in the year every team is fighting for a playoff spot. Some just have a much better chance than others at winning that fight.

I think Zibanejad's hot-streak is proving he is worth every penny of his new contract which Vancouver should take in exchange for EP40.

How selfless of Drury to offer such a one-sided deal to take on that EP40 contract to give the Nucks all that extra cap saving. What a gentleman.
