Danny Nelz with another tally in the first.

That Hagens kid is pretty good, too.

Not gonna lie the 'Free Bird' after team USA goals gave me goosebumps (especially after our guys' goals).

I was really impressed by the fake one-timer Eiserman used on his goal. Forced the goalie to slide out of position on the fake, and made the defense freeze long enough for him to find a seam. Very nice offensive processing.

Canada v Czech will be a good game tonight. Will be better than the slop the isles will treat us with.

Looking for any insight one could provide on Cole Eiserman’s attitude I'm seeing in this tournament, is this his normal, does he play this way in college? I mean I’m rooting for team USA but I’ve noticed he’s playing a bit undisciplined there were several plays where a penalty could have been called that he got away with. I’ll take physical play every day of the week but the cheap stuff gets you in trouble.

What the shit… join the Czech game in progress 4 minutes in and Czech already up a goal. Show the goal. Should have cut aaay from other game at the start of this one. Or delayed the start of this one 5 mins.

Sweet goal by the Czechs with under a minute to go. Canadians very salty on the refs, but damn near everything they called was a penalty. Kinda like GDTs here lolz

I believe it’s US v Czechs on Saturday. Don’t know if it’s the afternoon or evening game

Confirmed. US v Czech Saturday 7:30

I find the sense of entitlement by Canadian media and fans to be astonishing. As if they should be anointed the gold medal.

The game thread on the main board sounds like President Kennedy being assassinated.

Truly, I have never seen whining about referees like this.

Welcome to fans of team Canada in every tournament. The “my C Team would wreck your A team” attitude has been old for years.

Thoughts from the game (I watched the first two periods):

- Eiserman had very little ice time at even strength after the elbowing penalty. Yes, he was held and that went uncalled. Shoving your arm in the defenders face because you're pissed about not getting the call is not the correct response. He is a bit immature. That is what it is, I was a jerk when I was 18, too. But I was more sneaky.

- Nelson plays a very simple game. Had at least two other really good looks. His size makes him look as if he's moving slower than he is. The few times Swiss players challenged him in the neutral zone or in the corner, I suspect they regretted it. He was more excited to celebrate Moore's setup than his goal. If his nickname isn't Moose, it should be.

- I hate to say it, but Perreault is a great combo of being good all around, and an excellent passer. Watched him constantly scanning the ice, keeping track of everyone. His IQ is obvious.

- For all the accolades Hutson has gotten, Buium looks considerably more mature, and is much better in his own zone. Hutson is flashy, but a little scary.

- Hagens looks like a headier, but not quite as explosive, version of Jack Hughes.

Buium would be 1 of their prospects I’d target in a potential Nelson trade to Minnesota
