GDT: World Junior Discussion

Not trying to advertise or anything, but best buy has

NHL 13 (ps3/xbox 360) for $20 right now for their New Year's sale online. Thought some hockey fans might be interested. :)

Can't wait for the semis. :D

agreed.

Eberle
Hall
RNH
Yakupov
Schultz

or

Eberle
Hall
RNH
Murray
Schultz

2nd looks far more balanced to me. Thank god for Tambi
Oh god, that's brilliant. That hypothetical core reminds me of Toews-Kane-Keith-Seabrook, but it's great that they blew their chance to build their own version.

Eberle - RNH - Hall
Pajaarvi - Gagner - Hemsky

Schultz - Murray
Smid - Petry

Dubnyk

Oops.

Yup. Russia is in a bit of trouble here. The Swiss are playing great.

If the Swiss had a few top end talents they'd be able to beat just about every other team in the tournament. Their system, team play and work ethic is just amazing. Their defense is pretty stellar, and they really pressure offensively. Really good on the cycle.

Such a fun team to watch.

If the Swiss lose, they'll highly regret not capitalizing on all the PP's they had.

Russia takes it in a shootout. Hell of a game by the Swiss and tournament for that matter. What a game. Worth a watch for those that weren't able to watch it. Was so worth staying up for.

Sweden - Russia
Canada - USA

Should be some good games.

Yeah, it's too bad they couldn't score on the first 3 shots of the shootout. Goalie made 3 saves to keep them in it, but eventually Russia is going to beat you in the shootout.

Was surprised the Swiss goalie stopped three in a row to start there, he's a pretty small goalie going against some really skilled Russians. The Swiss are terrible in scoring in shootouts, so the writing was kind of on the wall already. They skated in toward the goal way too slow and Vasilevski easily stopped them. Great effort nonetheless from the Swiss. Their development program is doing really well.

Pretty good tournament from the Swiss; too bad they won't be up for a medal.

Canada/USA rematch should be interesting. I don't think either team played their A Game apart from the goalies in their first meeting.

Hertl and Jaskin looked damned impressive from the other game.

Gudreau has that knack for being at the right place at the right time also.

For the sake of my Canadian homer heart, I wanted the Swiss to win.

But this should mean an exciting Sweden/Russian matchup now, so the hockey fan in me is pleased.
