I just heard "Beat L.A.!" chants at the Nigeria/Bosnia-Herzegovina match.

This has been an exciting WC thus far. I can remember back to Italia 90' and this is in my top 3 in terms of entertainment and the overall play from the countries involved.

In pervious WC's scoring first pretty much meant that team was going to get the win but there have been so many comebacks thus far that scoring first has not mattered as much.

CONCACAF has performed well in Brazil. Who would have figured Costa Rica to progress out of a group containing Italy, England & Uruguay.

Mexico has performed surprisingly well after a shaky qualifying campaign.

The US has a great opportunity to advance as well. I believe Honduras is still alive as we'll going into their last match day.

Hoping Croatia can get the 3 points on Monday versus Mexico and move on to the round of 16 versus Chile/Mexico.

This has been the best world cup since I've been watching (started watching in 2006). Really entertaining this year. A lot of quality soccer from the best teams and a lot of surprsing upsets. Originally had a final of Brazil vs Spain, but Spain had to screw everyone over with their performance.

I'm a huge USMNT supporter and even though they didn't play parturaly well against Ghana in their 1st game, it was nice to see them pull out a victory. And With Ghana tying the Germans, they improved the U.S chances of advancing to the next round. With Portugal missing some key players and Ronaldo clearly not at 100%, I think the U.S will beat them tomorrow.

Isn't soccer just like hockey, but on grass? :)

It's been exciting, but unfortunately, my enthusiasm has been tempered a bit by die Kaiser leaving off Landon from the team. Tim Cahill's goal has been the goal of the tournament so far.

José Canseco with his own version of using the header play in baseball...

Minus the toughness and excitement.

Cahill's goal was class but RVP's goal against Spain was the top goal of the tourney thus far. It was brilliant.

Today's Algeria/S.Korea game was entertaining. I wouldn't have figured those two sides to put up a total of 6 goals.

Big opportunity for the US tonight versus Portugal. Win and they are off the the round of 16.

Poor goaltender decisions on both sides led to the high score.

Pretty much, but the only player in hockey I've ever seen try to header a puck is Matt Greene.

Lol

RVP's goal was definitely class, though I think Iker was a bit out in no man's land. Still, it's second on my list. Feilaini's header was pretty nice as well against Algeria.

You've gotta be ******** me.

Now we need a draw against Germany. ****.

Not necessarily,

Ghana beats Portugal, they are 1-1-1 with a US loss, US has the tiebreaker

Portugal beats Ghana they are 1-1-1 with a -6 goal differential, they would have to beat Ghana by 4 or 5, or US lose by 4 or 5

It's going to be US and Germany going through.

Ah, my mistake then. Well, that is certainly more positive than my previous outlook.

Thanks for the clarification.
