Brodeur raises the level of play of his whole team. His puckhandling and rebound control are unmatched in the whole world, which gives Canada a lot more leverage. Defensemen don't need to stay in the defensive zone for as long, and they don't need to box around the crease to control rebounds. Luongo may be slightly better at keeping the puck out of the net (he isn't showing it today) but, he has zero puckhandling skills and his rebound control is abysmal.

Exactly all of this forechecking pressure the Czech's are getting on Canada's defence wouldn't be nearly as evident if Brodeur were back there playing the puck like a 3rd defenceman.

Have not been impressed with either goaltender. To be sure, Luongo made a couple of great saves, but he's looked shaky on more than a few shots.

Heatley has been superb.

One gets the feeling some "fans" are incapable of watching a hockey game - even a great game like this one - without complaining about the refs.

Thank God a superb team game like this will not be determined by an individual skills competition.

Wish I hadn't turned on this game...will make me miss hockey even more.

Theos actually a pretty decent puck handler. No Brodeur mind you, but still aboce average.
