If we end up with the chance of drafting Slafkovsky at 2 and pass … I’ll be pissed . No way we would have normally had a shot at him before the lotto win . Highest % had us picking 6th . That is massive . That’s the difference between the two D plus Slaf being gone or being able to pick any one of those 3

No way Habs go anyone but a C . The draft in Montreal , then being trying for years trying to get a C . I just cannot see them not going Wright . I’d be more surprised if they pass than when we won the lotto .
I guess in the very very unlikely scenario they go Slaf instead , getting Wright at 2 is nothing to sneeze at .

I think this is where I'm at as well now. Was in favor of Slaf once we moved up to #2, but the more I read about him and see from him in this tournament cements him as the pick for NJ.

Aside from having the highest upside (assuming Wright goes #1 overall), it also matches an organizational need. I think the perceived RHD need for this organization is completely overblown and landing a top W is a much bigger priority (2nd only to fixing the goaltending, which should not be part of the discussion surrounding this pick).

Absolutely.

We are in a TREMENDOUS position here regardless of who goes #1 though my preference is for Wright to go MTL and we get Slaf.

Mtl is gonna take Slaf because well....our luck. Just hope the Yotes are willing to pay up to secure Wright
Secure Wright??

The only ones securing Wright will be the Devils.

I just do not see Fitz passing on Wright if Slaf is taken by the Habs.

If Arizona wants a Center so badly, they can draft Cooley at #3.

Yes, that's what I want to see. Break the game.

Slaf the Terminator. Love it - he's been the difference maker. Yes, I know it's Kazakhstan.

He's been the difference in almost every game though, not just this one. He's only 18 though and can't really do everything himself.
