Ummm, that's a really smart comment...

I'm not saying that I totally disagree with you on the subject itself. Mäntylä is a midget, and it naturally shows sometimes.
He's still much steadier defensively than Nummelin for example. Doesn't come anywhere close to Petteri in terms of offensive contribution, though. If you give Tuukka a 6'3, 220 type of an opponent to handle infront of the goal or along the boards, he'll do a much better job than many D-men bigger than him. He plays smart positional game too. And most importantly; he's a warrior. That's probably why Summanen likes him.

Just look at Timonen in the 5-6 loss to sweden, he was the one giving the most out there every minute but got pushed away too much, had we had Helenius there to take away those big swedish forwards there wouldn't been a loss. Small guys with so little offensive skills aren't needed, no matter how hard they try.

Yes, and had we had one of Jortikka/Summanen/Westerlund/Heikkilä/ The Cleaning lady/Cheerleader/Tamminen/Tarja Halonen as coach we would have won 5-1!

Had we had Helenius out there, the Swedes would have skated past him so fast he wouldn't have been anywhere on time to 'take away' anyone... He can't keep up with the pace even in SM-liiga. The Finnish team lost the game in their heads, not due to lack of size.

But like I said, I do agree with you somewhat, I just think you're a bit too black and white in your opinion on the importance of size (no 'other meaning' intended, you perverts...).
I'm not that sure I would be more comfortable with Saravo, for example, out there as Tuukka's replacement.

Nope, not the final team. There is still two spots left in the team. One spot for forward and one spot for defender. All of the three Viuhkola, Immonen and Loponen are still part of considerations for those two spots.

This Finnish roster is very different compared to last year's.

Last year everyone were watching only the first line. Now it will be different. All lines will get their chances.

We have good pointmen on the powerplay. Salo, Karalahti and Nummelin have wicked slapshot. Powerplay is one thing I'm counting on.
