not quite right. binghamton is out of play-off-race after giving up two games straight to norfolk (0-3 each).
and since the big sens are facing elimination, too, there should be no problems for schubert and vauclair joining their respective national teams.

I think that roster looks pretty strong (the american one).
I look forward to see Dustin Brown and Ryan Malone play on the larger surface.
The only players I am unfamiliar with are goalie Alex Westlund and forward Andy Roach.

Andy Roach plays for the Mannheim Eagels of the DEL. He is listed as a defender.

Yes, for Czechs it looks like 15 + goals after the first group is finished. This, however, might be disadvatage because team does not meet any strong opponent before the quatrefinals and might be,! no, this will NOT happen to us!, eliminated.

Oh yes, Havlat would be great but the roster is already overcrowded by NHLers. Lener said that he will wait how the series end, so sole of the players might arrive just for the quatrefinal, semi and final. Yes final!

Czechs are my favourites to win, but anything can happen.

Zherdev and Russia have much animosity towards each other now with that whole Russian transfer deal and Zherdev skipping his military commitment. Just a hunch from me, but I would be suprised if Zherdev EVER plays for the Russian national team within the next 6-10 years if not ever again

In his interview on March 12, 2004 with Dmitry Pavlovich from Soviet Sport
Nikolai Zherdev talks about his trial and other stuff:
-Yes I had to go to Switzerland and stand before judge. I had to miss two games because of that. Preparations also took some time. I had to meet with lawyers, answer many questions, sign papers. All day business – then game at night, I was so tired and not focused! I am glad it’s all over now. I knew that Russian side had no chance. Right after the court I flew back to the US. Switzerland was nice
though. CSKA and RHL representatives I didn’t see nor heard before the judge, but I had very warm conversation with CSKA vise-president Valery Guschin. We greeted each other, but didn’t talk for long wich was unfortunate because I had
few questions to ask him. I am glad that everyone can see that I was right and I was not in Russian Army.
I still want to represent Russia on international stage. I hope all this will be behind and I will have a chance to play for Team Russia again. It is unfortunate
that I missed my last chance to participate in World Junior Championships this year.
Shall I come to Russia this summer? I have not thought about this, but if I do, I know I might be taken to Russian Army and I want to play hockey! I plan to go to Kiev, Ukraine.

Just some updates, with the Preds out of the playoffs:

Tomas Vokoun has accepted an invitation from the Czech team, and is the expected starter. Roman Cechmanek will likely be the backup. Vokoun hopes a good performance here will help springboard him to the Olympic team.

Martin Erat and Marek Zidlicky were also invited, but declined. Erat wants to keep his focus on the next NHL season, and Zidlicky is still suffering from a concussion incurred in game 1 of the playoffs.

Andreas Johansson has accepted an invitation to play for Sweden

Scott Walker declined an invitation to play for Canada, due to a fractured foot\birth of a new baby daughter.

Mark Eaton declined an invitation to play for Team USA, as he intends to keep his focus on his weight training in preparation for next season. David Legwand and Adam Hall have both been approached to play for USA, but have not committed yet.

I think he's a better player then Hrdina.
