This might get buried in this thread, but why exactly is there no hitting in women's hockey. I have watched for years, but I have never looked it up.

They're all women, why not let them kill each other like the men do.

If I was them I wouldn't want hitting especially if your getting paid pretty terribly and have no support after your done playing.

I watched the last world championship final and that was a fantastic game with intensity, rough stuff between whistles, chirping between stars players and amazing hockey.

Sadly this game has been a slumber party compared to that game. USA is looking weak and barely can muster any emotion on the bench or on the ice.WTF is going on? Throw in Bruce Bodreau in the to throw some F***bombs in their room!

Americans - get som fecking mojo going and make this a game, its the olympic final! Looking like a round-robin game. They just cant bow down to Canada like this!

You have to make an attempt at moving the puck in Olympic hockey, otherwise it's a delay of game. I've seen it called twice now on the women's side. Once on Japan for pinning the puck along the boards and another time against Sweden for laying on the puck.

Russia has 2000 womens players and USA has 80 000, that is a big part of the answer surely?

Didn’t watch a single mens game yet, and since Canada and USA are both out I probably won’t. But I am actually right locked into this game, didn’t even plan on watching but couldn’t sleep and I’m glad I ended up putting it on, great game so far
