I mean, yeah sure, we don't really have to go there. I'm just pointing out that it's all kind of interconnectedWell, yeah, on a sociopolitical front,,. But let's not go there.
Hello, welcome. I have to stop you there, though.Oilers fan in peace. Congrats on the win, you guys totally deserved it, the better team for sure. Leaf big guns came to play, Oilers stars looked disintersted. My Oilers need to make some changes for sure to have any chance at advancing in the playoffs. Starting with a goalie and then a couple dmen and finally a couple forwards. A big list for sure, and not a lot of assets or cap room. Oilers have an absolutely horrific record this year against the top teams.

Nah, Edmonton was clearly better last night. And unlike Toronto they should be able to go far in the playoffs as they have been battle tested for several years now.Oilers fan in peace. It is, as is the ability to challenge. You can’t change that now, but removing the ability to challenge the offside should be done because it negatively impacts games, like it did last night. One question, is offsides in the rulebook?
Just because a linesman misses a call doesn't mean one team should benefit and the other be disadvantaged.
Real intelligent interpretation. But carry on.So basically both fanbases just hate their teams and can only see negatives. Makes sense in a lot of ways.
Last I looked, a goaltender is part of a team. And they have had a tendency to make a lot of goalies look like Vezina contenders this year.We definitely did not deserve to win. The last 40 minutes was all oilers, the difference was goaltending
Would anyone be talking about the offside if there was no challenge rule? I highly doubt it because no one would even know it happened. What happens with this rule in place is a bunch of guys in a room watch every zone entry and determine whether to challenge or not. It results in needless delays and more importantly takes away from the guys on the ice. It's the one rule that makes sense and isn't at the mercy of "judgement". There's a consistency in ruling offsides. Consistency is the one thing that all fans cry about and then we have a rule that is applied equally in all situations for and against all teams, some people want to see it go away. Edmonton fans crying about that rule last night is crazy and hypocritical. That call goes their way and they wouldn't utter a word about how unfair it is.
It's the most fair and sane rule the NHL has. Goaltender interference? That's all over the place. DoPS? yeah we all know how bullshit that is - but offsides - it's fair, sometimes ya hate it sometimes ya love it - but it's almost 100% consistent - something that can't be said about most rules in the NHL
There are two linesmen, can they not make the call and we deal with what there eyes see? They don’t miss very many egregious calls. If an inch doesn't matter in a game, why would a player risk being offside to gain that inch. The criticism of a close offside should be towards the player who was offside. Not the rulebook. If only he held up one extra second to be safe because one extra second doesn't matter anyways, is what I'm hearing here.
Yes. Even more.Would anyone be talking about the offside if there was no challenge rule?
You do know that like... games are recorded on video, right?I highly doubt it because no one would even know it happened.
Getting things right isn't needless, and it doesn't hurt anybody on the ice.It results in needless delays and more importantly takes away from the guys on the ice.
Not ignoring offsides just the ability to challenge them.I wasn't just talking about the fans lol
I agree that the offside was pretty inconsequential but a line is drawn and to ignore it because of an inch is a slippery slope. Could be worse, look at some of the offside calls I'm soccer
I thought it was offside immediately when I saw it in real time and I was surprised it was as close to not being offside as it was.Would anyone be talking about the offside if there was no challenge rule?
