They won so that's a good thing I guess.

If this was a Keefe led team they would have blown that lead. It was close enough as it was. That offside could have easily gone either way.

Who cares they won and that's all that matters.

I'll take a bad win over a good loss any day. Nothing worse than looking good while losing. Just ask any Oiler's player or their fans if they feel good knowing they won the Corsi battle tonight.

Only someone with a loser's mentality would say it's no big deal to lose so long as you look good doing it.

I can't be the only one who finds it hilarious how many Leafs rejects Edmonton employs. If they want a few more of Toronto's castoffs they're welcome to help themselves. Domi and Robertson would look good in an Oiler's uniform.

They're both pretty useless when it comes to helping this team win.

Compared to 2021 when the Leafs were ahead, Edmonton took several steps forward as contenders and experienced a lot of post season success along the way. Their stars play with a serious edge and they have that urgency. Leafs don’t feel like they’ve really grown at all despite glimpses here and there.

Like I keep saying its DUMB to call back a goal for an 'offside' that you can't even tell is an offside short of a super slow-mo review and using a magnifying glass to see if its an 'offside' or not.

Except I thought he was offside during real time watching it and low and behold someone else in Toronto did as well. The freeze frame is there to confirm it. There's also implications if they get it wrong so it's not used unless absolute certain like the Leafs are - being 12 for 12 over the last 3 years which means it's being done 4 teams a season. Big deal.

Get the call right is all. Can't believe people are arguing this.

OK so if we want to get offside calls right, then why aren't we doing this ALL THE TIME then? There are numerous plays similar to this in every game where a player looks like they could be either onside/offside and yet the officials say its close enough and allows the play to continue. If we're going to be such sticklers and want to get offside calls right all the time, then why aren't we video reviewing every close offside/onside call to make sure we get it right 100% of the time? Why do we only care about whether a player is offside or not when its this close only when a goal a scored and not every other time this happens? Why pick and choose instead of enforcing this rule for EVERY close offside/onside play and take it to the video room to make sure?

This just shows how little everyone actually cares about following the offside rule to the letter if they only ever care about an offside when it results in a goal and on every other situation that's exactly the same where a player is close enough to the line, then that's good enough to continue the play without having to go to a video review to make sure that player is onside.

I'm not talking about a coach making a challenge. I'm saying in general if we care about 'getting it right' then why aren't all close offside/onside plays being reviewed to make sure a player isn't offside? If everyone was so concerned about making sure the offside rule was being followed then every close play should be review to see if a player is offside/onside. Obviously that doesn't happen because it would slow the game down which is why a player can do the exact same thing as Klingberg did a half dozen times per game and no one cares.

And that's my point. If no one cares enough that Klingberg was 'offside' and it doesn't result in a goal and play is allowed to continue, then it should also not matter if Klingberg was offside and it does result in a goal. The offside challenge has become a last ditch hail mary call to try and cancel an otherwise good goal and who cares if you're wrong and it results in a penalty? The other team still has to score again instead of having that goal count on the scoreboard.

Good for that guy. Still think its stupid to call a goal back on an 'offside' that's barely an offside that you can't really tell if you watched the play in real time.

Like others I think you can usually see in real time if it looks maybe offside. I would be fine with getting rid of the coach's challenge option on offside but I do not feel guilty about using it to beat the pretender oilers
