Who’s really willing to put their name down as predicting a Czech win here? Some seem quite confident after a really bad period by Canada, and I just don’t want them slinking away if we manage to gather ourselves to turn it around.
 
Of all the teams I expected to roll after the exhibition games, Sweden was at the bottom of the list. LOL!

This is a good Czech team. Their odds should never have been worse than 1 in 3 or 1 in 4.

Saying that, the one goal difference at the end of the 1st doesn't really mean anything. Game is still about 3-1 chance for Canada, maybe 2-1.

Goalies are using their heads to stop it and, as someone else said, it should be a penalty if your stick makes contact with the goalie's mask. Do that and it will dry up.

The Czech broadcast started with OUR Gord Miller Robert Zaruba and I think he nailed it to be honest

Czechs have 1 win in 30 year and probably a 1 in 20 chance to win tonight. That was the opening on Czech TV. Just in case people think the Czechs came in here with ego or think they got this.lol

Like I mentioned elsewhere, I was going to bet on Canada when I thought the odds were -700. I got to the betting site and the odds were -1600. I thought, "NO thanks!!!!".

I'm glad I passed because I'd be sick right now.

I mean, I do not expect them to lose, but it was a pretty shitty period.

You'd have the change the wording on the rules. As of now contact on a shot attempt isn't a penalty.

Perhaps but Kulich is brave out there and working hard, so is Svozil. I really do like how Kulich leads by working hard and skating like a m*. Svozil sure is underrated.

What about Jiricek then? He seems somewhere between masterful-ice cool and a bit nonchalant and risky. If he gets it right this tournament? Not only do you have three good players in them, but straight up leaders. That's what makes me believe you are a true contender this year with Canada being the favorite of course.
 
I expect a thunderous hit and a few goals and an insane crowd in about the first 10 mintues here.

I think we can break the 17 year medal drought... if things go well.

Sale, Kulich, Jiricek, Svozil are awesome and would probably make Canada... however, let's coutner them with Wright, Bedard, Fantille and Stankovich. Now do the rest of the rosters.lol
 
Let's see what you've got Canada. TSN has been blowing smoke up your butts nonstop.

Glad to see the Czechs taking it to us here, this team needs some adversity early.
