If it does take two years to clear, then WADA has some explaining to do. If it doesn't, then Russian team officials are to blame. Meldonium was on the WADA watch list for a year as a warning of a complete ban. Nobody should have been taking it last year.

WADA doesn't have to explain anything to anybody! Whatever they say is law - comply or we'll shut you down.

I can't believe you read the advertising labels on a product to obtain factual information. Kind of like McDonald's saying that their burgers make you feel "free, alive and zesty for life," when instead, they just make you feel diabetic!

I still have no idea what properties of Meldonium make you a better hockey player. If it functions like a mini-EPO, which has been implied but not factually stated, then you could see how it would help a cross country skier or marathoner, who run long events non-stop at a level alternating between aerobic and anaerobic. Hockey players are expected to skate at a fully anaerobic state for 30- to 50-second shifts, so extra blood cells to bind to oxygen is seemingly of no real advantage, other than recovery between shifts. But even in recovering between shifts, where the recovery period is between 2- or 5-minutes, its hard to see any kind of advantage for well-conditioned players.

So are you telling me when people break rules, there should be no accountability at all? Give me a break that Canadians were afraid of Sweden (LOL). Canada dominated Sweden. However, when people break rules they should be held responsible. I would have said the same thing if the players were Canadian.

I wouldn't say they dominated Sweden thats a bit strong! its not like they crushed Sweden 8-0

Besides the first 10 minutes or so, Canada dominated Sweden. If it was not for their tremendous goaltending, the score would have been 8-0. It was an one sided affair and the Swedish coach said the same thing.

Slovakia - Russia 4:3 after shootout (1:0, 1:3, 1:0 – 0:0, 0:1)

Slovakia - Switzerland 7:3 (4:0, 0:2, 3:1)

Apparently Sweden won 4-3. Not much info out there but Liljegren scored a goal and got injured.

EDIT: Highlights: http://globalnews.ca/video/2635006/highlights-under-18-sweden-vs-canada

I was at the game and can confirm Lilijegren picked up what appeared to be a shoulder injury. I was sitting close to their bench and he came off favoring it and just sat on the bench for the 3rd period. I came away very VERY impressed with his game so I hope he doesn't miss the tournament because he would be a kid I would want to watch play more games.

yesterday Latvia played an exibition against kids from northern Minnesota and lost 4-0. the team was slapped together and hadnt had a practice

yeah but still they are 3rd oldest team somehow. Only Russia and Slovakia have age average under 17yo according to eliteprospects

ok, I see. Thought that for small nation like Switzerland it's quite a surprise to align 7 underagers.
According to eliteprospects, other nations still have to cut some players. Switzerland's at 20 skaters. No further cuts expected. But they sure are born early in the year.
